They should keep UVM in the field and make it a 2-day event...Revive the Governor's Cup.

Attendance might be poor in Boston without an area team involved, though.I'd like to see them hold it in some old barn like the Tully Forum, and watch a packed house tear the roof off the sucka!

Those were preliminary talks. The Powers That Be decided it would be better to have a doubleheader, and BU/BC is not a possibility.

Multiple sources indicate these are the matchups. There has been talk about including Northeastern instead of UVM, but the inclusion of Maine, UHN and UMass appears to be a done deal.
Thanks for the info.

The Governors Cup was a good idea, and too bad they dropped it...1st year was outstanding as Vermont..(Thomas/St.Louis/Perin)..lost to Maine in O.T. on a goal by Steve Kariya...

Gag me on those Fenway match-ups. If they couldn't get Maine or UNH to give up a home game then they should have tried to get a couple of "name" teams (Michigan, Michigan State, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Denver, CC) for a doubleheader (ex: Maine vs. Minnesota, UNH vs. Wisconsin). These match-ups will be lucky to attract 15K IMO.

I agree. It's a lot of money to go down there and watch a game from a mile away. Bring your telescope. Nothing like $8 beers!!

Excuse me while I laugh at how ridiculous this idea is.

The whole idea of an outdoor game is just plain boring and stale and way overdone .....just plain poor salesmanship....

The team leaves on October 13th on a charter flight (direct), from BIA to play 2 games against the Fighting Sioux on the 14th and 15th. There are 55 seats available on the charter flight for all of you "diehard" Maine hockey fans who may wish to see Ralph Englestad Arena. Great opportunity!

Toot is still @ UMass...it was UMass-Lowell that hired a new coach..(Bazin).

To be fair,Toots has done less with (arguably) more than even Timmy has over the past several years.I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Cahoon fired.

Maybe...but he also got a new deal last season. Give Red Gendron a shot, either there or at some Div.1 school.
