and now purcell makes it 3-0 in the first for the lightning....
Unlike some head coaches, the Kings staff does not blame their recent lack of playoff success on Purcell leaving early.
On a different subject, can anyone out there help me out in finding Patches from Hockey East Anniversary,I am not sure if they made a 10th,but they did have the 15th/20th & 25th...any info would be great and THANK's.
Never too cold for a margarita. Never.Hey Ray, Nice thread title. But of course you know that's just crazy talk. Men's hockey outdrawing women's hoops? Right, like that's ever gonna happen.
Hope all is well is your neck of the woods. Two straight days of all-day rain here in Denver. Happens about twice a year. Cold as well. Too cold for a marg!
Looking forward to Sunday afternoon when the DU men's lacrosse team hosts Villanova in a firsdt round NCAA tournament lacrosse game on campus at Peter Barton Stadium. Have a good weekend.
Thanks...yes I remember now...getting old....!http://www.gvjerseys.com/data/college/images/997124367_Image1_roadrookief10thpatch.jpg
you can see the 10th anniversary patch on someone's shoulder...
Get ready for the TW whining in Late November...bet on it...like rain in Maine..!The Union Leader (Manchester, NH) has a pretty long article about Purcell in the paper today. Unfortunately, I could not find it on-line. It details the benefit of the change of scenery from LA Kings to Lightning organization. Unlike some head coaches, the Kings staff does not blame their recent lack of playoff success on Purcell leaving early.
Never too cold for a margarita. Never.
While Fenway park would be cool it would be better to see a HE double header at Gillette if they wanted to do an outdoor game. Have the night game be UNH vs Maine and the other game can either be something along the lines of UMass vs NEU, UVM vs Umass, or just go with the easy pick BU vs BC. There will be another HE outdoor game it is just a question of when and where not if. I also wouldn't be surprised if BC set up its own outdoor game on its football field at some point within next 10 years.
fajita grill, main street, westbrook...best margaritas anywhere...and phkn Hhhhugggeee.![]()

The Maine guys really showed up,as they have for most of the season.(Too bad we have to root against the Bruins, but I can live with it!)
It was awesome to see Tort win the cup a few years back, and it would be a great consolation prize to Maine fans to see three Bears win rings this year, after the disaster that was the UM season.(And it's kinda nice to have UML's Rollie in net.)
The college guys are front-and-center these days, and I love that fact...About *&%@ time the NHL GMs woke up.
Sweeper, I would love to be wrong about Abbott.
tape to tape passes should be expected on EVERY play at this level.
Merrimack can do it... the entire team can do it.
you apparently have the video... do me a favor and count the shorties that Maine gave up that were all his fault this past season
vision and hands mean that you do not put a puck into a defender's shins when quarterbacking the PP
vision and hands means that you do not miss passes and let the puck bounce into the neutral zone or just plain pass it into the neutral zone while quarterbacking the PP. (and compare him to Bret Tyler... when Tyler messed up like that, he was fast enough to get back and dive and knock the puck off the stick of the guy on the break away... speedy Bret Tyler)
those are mistakes that freshmen defenders get to make ONCE in their careers, as a Mulligan. But Abbott and Hopson were given Mulligan after Mulligan.... and we see where Hopson has been playing (He also was touted has having Whitehead-esque "elite vision and hands" and while I liked Keenan a lot as a person and I like Spencer... neither one was NHL or AHL calibre, in my "never been so wrong in my life" opinion)
I do not know how long you have been following hockey, but if you think that he is a good passer, I am afraid you have not been exposed to "good" college hockey.
i agree... and good, cheap eats...
Sounds like a good hire... Amy Vachon for assistant coach (women's bb)

Just seeing and hearing what is going on for WBB team over the last few weeks gives you the feeling that there's a NEW enviroment and alot of Positive compared to what it use to be....NOW if they could ONLY change the Men's Hockey Coach...and by change...show him the road out of Orono. She actually smiled when talking about BBall unlike her former teammate
