Was in Orono today, tried to get into Alfond to get a look see but the outside looks like a war zone I figured they weren't going to let me in.

It will all be worth it. The arena looked strange with all the seating torn out. I am so excited for the future. Go Black Bears!

Coach Whitehead will lead us to victory. Another great year of college hockey is just around the corner! :D:D:D

I believe hockey camp runs between July 25th - 29th. The ice surface must be getting close to being finished, unless the camp will be held elsewhere? Looking forward to a new seating location and new wider seats for the upcoming season.

There is no summer hockey camp at Maine this year.

Coach Whitegead rules! Every season is great because players are improving and us fans get to watch quality collegfe hockey.

We are lucky to have a top notch coaching staff and as a true Black Bear fan I support Maine hockey 100%

So only one team has a great season every year? Last year was an abject failure for Boston College, Yale, Merrimack, Union, North Dakota...everyone but Duluth? Wow.

Some fans may be happy with their team just reaching the title game. I'm not one of them. It's either win or it wasn't a great season.

So do the events of the past week (i.e. the creation of NCHC) perhaps have anything to do with the rumored Maine/Nebraska-Omaha 2-year playing agreement falling through?

This whole Whtehead thing will be determned by one thing.......money......more specifically, revenues. If the team starts winning consistently, then Whitehead will most likely reman as head coach. If the team continues to lose consistently, then Whitehead is out. The Alfond Foundation, along with other big donors, expect a certain level of success from this program. They are not making these investments for nothing. Add to that declining ticket and concession revenue, and Whitehead has a lot of work to do.

So you follow sports to be miserable, as a best case scenario, like 19 out of 20 years?
