Probably the second one, but where they cut seats out for wheel chairs they can do so by cutting out one row instead of two. That'll save some seats. They also cut out seats in from of present ADA seats (lower level south end).

I've got a even better idea, let's blame Blake James for adding more skyboxes in '06. :)

well some of the seats had obstructed vision. I've sat high up and missed parts of the ice. Hopefully this will change things but the atmosphere is awesome. Go Black Bears!

It'll probably make things worse, taking out good seats for empty ADA sections and less people means less noise. It'll be more comfortable in Alfond but I think it'll make no impact on what will be a very disgruntled crowd next year.

See: the Boston Bruins defensive corps. And see the effect beating on people has late in games.

maybe it's just me, but I see a lot of value in taking kids aside when they come off a shift, and pointing out the things they did right, or the things they did wrong, and how they might want to try doing it like this the next time they're in the same situation. That way it's corrected right then, and might have some effect on the outcome of the game as it goes on. Every good hockey coach I've ever seen is always doing this with his players.

If you wait til you get to practice on Monday, it's too late, the teaching moment's gone, and the play isn't fresh in anyone's mind by then, so the proper corrections might not even get made.

But then, I'm not TIMMAY, I guess I just don't understand.
Oh you understand fully, just hope that the AD understands come next spring. Thats the BIG difference is they USE to learn during the game and they outplayed/outhit the other team time after time...we all know that you make changes and adjust during the game...but with TW that does not happen or ever will....what has changed is Maine loses at Home when it was a given playing at Maine was h#ll on the visiting team, you may have outplayed them for one period, but all in all you paided the price and usually left Alfond with a lost and banged up.

Anyone think that Whitehead could be a candidate for the Northeastern job??? He's got a great resume and Northeastern has been known to hire Maine coaches. ;)

Might be a graceful way for him to exit and Northeastern gets a known commodity with Frozen 4 experience!

Maine doesn't review film of their previous games during the week?

We couldn't be lucky enough for Northeastern to take TIMMAY off our hands

I like Coach Whitehead. He has the respect of his players and I have confidence in his abilities.

Exactly why he should be a candidate for the Northeastern position! Boston location.......more money......how can he go wrong?

Go for it TIMMAY!!!

Maine is a special place to coach and play. There are many merits to staying in Maine. I doubt Coach Whitehead is leaving, just rumors. As a diehard Black Bear fan I believe he is doing a great job.:cool::cool::cool:

Season Ticket Renewal form arrived today. $335 a seat without playoff tickets and $380 if you pay for playoff tickets now. It came with a paper saying that there may be a potential off campus opportunity for one game. This may not be decided until August. If there is a game at Fenway season ticket holders will have first chance to purchase tickets for the event.

I'm sure they do, but which is more effective? Taking a player aside and showing him right as it's occuring, or trying to recreate it several days later in practice from a game film? And how does doing it in practice several days later prevent the player from possibly doing the same exact thing several more times in the game?

The best time to show and teach is right then, when the game adrenaline is going and the moment is right there, fresh in the mind.

Information with the ticket invoice also mentioned that the new seats in the lower bowl are larger, resulting in reduced seating capacity. Season ticket holders will receive priority if adjustments are necessary due to the new seating plan.

Yes, I have a copy of the plans and it looks like about 400 seats will be lost, including the top two rows on the southern end and in the corners under the balcony.

$3.5 million to lose 400 seats........only in Maine!!! I'm hoping that the next round of "renovations" after this gets Alfond back to about 4,200........then it will be where it was before millions were spent on multiple expansions!

With the NEW Chair-Back seats, are these people going to be charge a Donation fee like the other Chair-Backs in the Upper Bowl section..?

No, the new seats aren't premium seats, just replacements for the original 1977 chairs. There might be premium seats in the first two rows on either side of the penalty boxes. I wouldn't be surprised, the plans call for 22 inch seats there.
