Re: Lunch

Lunch today was from this new Italian sandwich place that opened sometime last year but my coworkers only discovered within the past month or two. They import everything except their bread from Italy and the quality shows. The sandwiches are expensive, $10 to $13, but they're also gigantic; we get one for each pair of us and share them, and even half of one is still a nice sized meal. Today's was tuna with fresh mozzarella, hot peppers and arugula, and it did not disappoint.

Way to go all CPR on this thread! *thumbs up*

They import arugula? Doesn't it wilt?

Re: Lunch

Roast turkey and swiss from Arby's, and a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Most disappointing sandwich I've ever had.

Scratch that. I had the roast turkey breast on sourdough from Panera with their kettle chips. The chips were tasty. The sandwich, on the other hand, was bland and not very filling. For giggles, I checked the nutrition info, and it only had 4 grams of fat. No wonder I walked away hungry.

Re: Lunch

Panera pretty much sucks. Way too overpriced for what you get. Unless you order one of the salads, I feel like 50% of the calories in their meals come from bread and chips.

Re: Lunch

Given my severely limited options, still hitting Subway for lunch. It's gotten to the point that when I park and walk in, my sandwich is half made already, cookies in the bag, and the only question is "bottle or fountain drink?"

Ever give them a heads up that you're looking for something different the next day.

Once in a while, as I walk in, I say "Hold on for a sec." That prime rib/bacon/pablano thing is pretty good. Otherwise, my usual is a Sub Melt.

Re: Lunch

Well, I was going to have a bag of chips from the vending machine but the effing thing got stuck. Whatever. I scrounge up some quarters and figure I can just throw the extra bag in my desk cabinet. Nope. The GDMFing second bag gets stuck. *rageahol*

At that point I was out of cash.

Re: Lunch

Since Panera Bread lists calorie counts beside its meals, the only way to have a satisfying sandwich is to have one that's 700 calories or more. Their Napa Almond Chicken Salad is actually very good.
