LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Bill nothing really note worthy about the show other then Tyler Marble has been tearing it up leading the league in Save %. He said Lain skated Monday but took Tuesday off and they will wait till later this week to see whether he may see game action this weekend.

SmartAxe nice post I agree with you on the depth of the roster. In my opinion it's a sign that the recruiting is getting better and better. With the fund raiser going on to raise the Hockey Opperations funding will only help the coaches even more.
Thanks PerkyforPrez. Things may be quiet on the recruiting front for a while. Three new forwards (Nardi, Globke, Miller) have already verbally committed for next season and should be signing their LOIs in a couple of weeks, after which Roque can talk about them by name if chooses to do so. Plus another forward (Johnson) is in school and sitting in the wings waiting to play next season. I've heard Roque say he expects to have 5 new forwards for next season. I've also heard him say he thinks Lain may turn pro after this season, but whether that 5 number for next season includes a replacement for Lain (if he leaves), or whether it includes Johnson, I don't know. At any rate, it sounds like they'll sign one or two more forwards for next season. Christian was out in Saskatchewan last weekend looking at kids in the SJHL and Laprade was down in Detroit presumably looking at kids in the NAHL (or possibly getting an early look at AAA kids for the future).

Got my LakerLog in the mail today. McLain says groundbreaking for the Norris Center project is scheduled for the Spring. Does that sound right 3dognight?

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Here's hoping the CCHA swan song kicks off to a good start I'm calling a big night for the freshman class on their first homecoming in front of what what is usually the biggest crowd of the year, 4-2 lakers

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Looks like another injury with Kapalka going down in the middle of the 2nd. Looked like a shoulder injury. Good thing for the Lakers that Murdock became eligible again this morning.

Was any update given on the Laker broadcast as to how serious the injury might be? I listened to the third period but it was on the spartans broadcast so they werent giving any laker updates. Glad to see LSSU hold up for the W.

No, he stretched to try to make the save on the Spartan 1st goal, and it looks like he injured his shoulder again. He skated over to the bench almost immediately after the goal.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Nice win. Tonight we shall see if they can put together two good games and not one good and one bad.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Nice win last night. The team showed good intensity all night, and most players seemed to have stepped up their game. Hopeful it will continue tonight. KK injury looked exactly like 2 years ago when his shoulder came out ( twice ) in the shoot out. Not sure if it is more serious since he didn't return to the bench, from what I could see.

In the USCHO Scoreboard recap of the game, Roque says this injury is to his other shoulder and that the plan is to have Murdock start tonight.

Yes, last night was his right shoulder, the left is the one he had surgery on. Rather ironic that the last time was against MSU, too.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

What happened to Colin Campbell ?
He had shoulder problems again and had surgery in August. They are expecting him to miss about one half of the season. Why it was August before he had surgery I don't know; maybe he aggravated it working out during the Summer?

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Tough injury to KK. Hopefully its just a day to day thing.

Huge win, though, for the Lakers. Huge. Great crowd. Great energy. Fun night. Beat those downstate scumbags one more night, just for the pure joy of it. Send them scampering back over the bridge like the dirty, weasel, scumbag Big Ten pigs they are!

Go Lakers.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Hope Kapalka is only out for tonight's game. Hopefully the defense supports Murdock like they did in the 3rd period of yesterday's game.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Sounds like there will be more tests on Kapalka's shoulder either tomorrow or Monday to see if there is any serious damage.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013

Sounded like the Refs made some questionable calls this evening but even so, we won't win games if we only bat .500 on the penalty kill....hopefully KK gets good news about the shoulder. after 6 games we are 3-3 2-1 at home and 1-2 on the road, the two biggest trends I've seen developing is even offensive distribution throughout the lineup which is a good sign, and an 0-3 record on Saturdays which is a bad sign, I hope it's not a conditioning issue
