Re: LSSU Hockey 2012-2013
Nobody complained about Sellers, either, by the way. I see virtually nothing but support for the players, past and present. There is the random on-line dust-up over the roles of a 3rd string goalie but those have never gotten personal about the player. But Mr. Sellers came into this thread and . . . well . . . the rest is history. He made his son an issue. And even then, only a few posters have taken that bait (myself, as noted earlier, shamefully included). And if you want to make your kid an issue, and open up his record books, and open up a player's skill level for direct discussion -- you will likely get what that for which you ask: e.g., you get some people who will tell the truth. Most people herein are too polite to badmouth a player -- sometimes even when it is deserved. Most people here understand that even the worst LSSU hockey player is probably a better hockey player than the best hockey playing poster on this site, or the best hockey playing student or fan at LSSU.
So most posters don't even take the bait (Bill, for instance, or Mr. Frick). Those who might take the bait are highly unlikely to even think about attempting to be critical of a former player. and then there are a few of us (again . . . shame on us, really) who feel compelled to respond (from time to time) to Truthy's blathering blithering nincompoopery. And that sort of response might include attacking a core premise of a particular poster's raison d'etre. That means that Nik Sellers' play as a Laker is going to commented upon.
What other player -- PLEASE feel free to search back in the USCHO postings for the past few years -- what other player was negatively commented upon?
And I don't mean "he had a bad game" or "He has not been playing well lately." I mean the critical review for which Mr. Sellers seems to take offense vis-a-vis his offspring. Any?
Lastly -- its OK to not like the coach. Its OK to not like the direction of the program. After a while, of course, and after several hundred identical postings, it just gets stupid. And after a while, of course, the triumphant crowing each and every time the Lakers lose gets old. I mean, we expect the NMU folks to remind us of our failures -- but generally the NMU posters who troll over to the LSSU page are decent people who like a good fiesty rivalry as much as we all do. And frankly, the NMU psoters aren't just cut-and-pasting repeated tautings.
