Three points or bust for the Lakers tomorrow night. They must throw everything at the Wildcats, like it's do or die. Hope Roque can fire up his players after a tough defeat tonight. Coach might be on the hot seat if the Lakers play poorly tomorrow.

Trying to figure this out was tough, but here is what I came up with.
If Michigan State finishes 2nd, Ohio State loses, and LSSU wins:
Ohio State wins the tie-breaker with Lake State based on the 4th tie-breaker, going to record vs. Michigan State.
If Ferris finishes 2nd, Ohio State loses, and LSSU wins:
Lake State wins the tie-breaker with Ohio State based on the 4th tie-breaker, going to record vs. Ferris.
Of course if Ohio State gets a point or LSSU doesn't get 3, it's a moot point.

Next weekend, it will be:
1) Us at Ohio State if OSU gets at least one point or we get anything less than three tomorrow.
2) Us hosting Ohio State if we get three points tomorrow AND Ohio State gets no points.
3) Us at Michigan if Notre Dame gets three points and we get no points tomorrow night.
I think those are the only scenarios left. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Lakers would win the tiebreaker, the 1st one based on conference wins. LSSU would have 11 league wins to OSU's 10.

Those are the 3 possibilities I see. Pity that Lake State can't draw Notre Dame in the 1st round, the way the Irish have been playing.

Were did you get Ravn had a clearinghouse problem ?
He visited LSSU in December, was asked to register by coach Roque and is admitted in engineering since mid january. Just waiting for Roque's confirmation to proceed with visa etc.
Can somebody provide a recap on the goalie situation ?

I was just talking to a guy who has been to Laker games over the years and he told me it appears as if the lakers try and shoot at the largest object in front of the net as their shooting mark and when you do,you hit the goalie more often than shoot pass him. The guy was at the game last night and he said so many shots were hitting the goalie in the chest and not forcing the goalie to move. Whether or not this is true ,it did make sense why so many of the Laker shots seem to find the goalie. Lakers can still get that home ice if they can get the win tonight but they need to score.

Although schools generally carry three goalies, in most cases one of them (the #3 guy) doesn't get a lot of scholarship help, at least that's the case at LSSU. So it would surprise me a bit if both Kapalka and Ravn have committed to LSSU for next season and have been offered significant portions of scholarships. Kapalka's team has indicated he has committed to LSSU, but Ravn's team has not. If you have information that Ravn is definitely coming to LSSU, great, we do need to bring in two goalies for next season. Maybe one of the two guys isn't in need of much financial help. But if Ravn has committed to LSSU and will be with the team next season, I'm puzzled why nothing has been said about it by either his Junior team or the Laker coaches or broadcasters. Obviously our coaches can't mention a kid by name until he actually signs an LOI, but if Ravn has committed I would think Bill Crawford or Mike Ellis would have at least mentioned that the Lakers have two goalies committed for next season on last evening's pre-game show when they were talking about next season's team. They did allude to the fact that Kapalka has just committed to LSSU, although they didn't mention him by name. If Ravn is also set to come to LSSU next season, why wouldn't they have mentioned that the Lakers have two goalies lined up? Both Kapalka and Ravn are 89 birth dates, so this should be their final season of Juniors. I suppose it's possible that Ravn (or Kapalka) has committed to LSSU with the understanding that he wouldn't get much scholarship help until the year after next when BMW is gone.

I don't know all the facts about Ravn, other than he reportedly did visit in December as you said. Aside from that, not much information has come out about him. He is still playing Junior hockey in Ottawa. On one of the Laker Hockey Shows around the start of the year, Jim Roque did say a foreign goalie had been in for a visit but that there were issues to try and work out related to his being a non-US/Canadian player. I wouldn't think a visa would necessary qualify as being a significant issue that needed to be worked out, but perhaps it is. I think the assumption has been more that the issue(s) were Clearing House and/or SAT related, but that is speculation at this point.

All I know for sure is that he went hrough admission at Roque's request and was admitted as transfer student in engineering. He has been living in Montreal for many years, and played 3 years in Ottawa being apparently consistently in the top 3 CJHL.

Sounds kind of strange. I've been wondering if Ravn was still in the picture. I can see where they could bring in both Kapalka and Ravn next season if they are able to juggle the scholarship money around to everyone's satisfaction, especially since we lose BMW after next season. They could then bring in more of a true #3 goalie the following season. But still, I'm not sure what to think at this point beyond the fact it looks like BMW and Kapalka are probably givens for next season.
I guess I'm still inclined to think Ravn may no longer be in the picture, but if he is, fine.

This is very true. I've always thought this to be the case. However, this season we've seen a small departure from their typical 'aim-at-the-goalie's-chest' type shots. Would like to see a sniper or someone capable of charging the net and burying some pretty ones!

It will be interesting to see how bad Hogan's groin injury is. After tonight's game vs. Notre Dame I don't know how much faith the team has in their backup.

Lakers had this season in their own hands and they let it fly away. I hope MI shows up with no injuries and the Lakers have to play and show they even deserve to be on the same ice as MI.

I don't recall anyone saying they were planning on trips to the Joe or Ford Field. As far as going on the facts, that's totally false and you know it. You may have been thinking and hoping that the Lakers would finish where they did (or lower), but you didn't know it, and that's a fact.
