No. I am using as my basis years of never seeing a bu player brush off an opposing coach. and jack booting kids for conduct unbecoming a terrier hockey player (don't you laugh Mav!! :D).

You, using your logic, I don't follow...

Take it for why its worth... But hearing the opposite of what many have speculated. Sounds like the original plan was to retire at the end of last year, but stayed on an extra year after the off ice issues.

Like him or not, today is not a day to bash Jack, but congratulate him and thank him on his college hockey career. Many of us in New England who grew up playing the sport benefited from his dedication and success at BU. Having been coached by one of his accomplished protege's, my character has been indirectly shaped by Jack Parker and BU Hockey. For that, I thank him and hope he has many well-deserved relaxing days ahead of him.

I'm not sure who is happier today, Jackie for not having to deal with Bennidetto or Bennidetto for not having to deal with Jackie.

I'll miss Jackie a ton because he was the gold standard for HE coaches for years and years and his teams were pain in the neck. Hope he enjoys retirement.

Just watched his press conference. Jack was humble, self deprecating and funny. A class act. "...school has to want you to win and be behind you."

A very good press conference. Feel better about the whole thing. He sure does look tired though. Glad he can find a way to contribute doing the thing BU values the most - fundraising! Also interesting that he's not picking his successor. Was going to be reeaaalll nervous if I saw Bavis up there too.

He has made that statement, or something similar to it, many times over the years.

I take it back. Someone at the presser said he had 892 (brownie maybe) but i just heard it reported that he has 894. Maybe brownie had his script prepared prior to this weekend...
