It's Primelink Week

Re: It's Primelink Week

Note that if you are "lucky" enough to get "one of your school's alotted tickets", you won't get to see both games, as it is the same 50 seats that are reserved for the visiting team - hense when you game is over you loose your seat and if your team isn't playing yet, well - you get to wait until they are. The seats are the 50 seats directly behind the visiting bench.

The issue that most out of town fans have is Plattsburgh doesn't have much standing room capacity for games which actually discourages away teams fans from coming. Plattsburgh is not that far from Central Vermont but the Ferry cost at least $20. round trip. At both Middlebury and Norwich a fan can buy a general admission ticket and back fill any available seats. This arrangement tends to fill the arena to capacity which makes for an exciting game.

While Plattsburgh doesn't kick anyone out of the arena for sitting in someone's reserved seats (so long as they quickly leave them without a hastle), finding seats that will go unfilled the entire game is like entering traffic, if it isn't rush hour it isn't problem, but otherwise, buyer beware. Plattsburgh's policy, until someone can prove otherwise by providing a sound, reasonable justification, in all appearances, is based on GREED and selfishness, making exceptions to fairly handle exceptional circumstances, is sign of adaptability and vision, anything else is incompetence.

As has been stated in another thread, each visiting team is allotted 50 tickets. Then there's the 1200ish Season ticket holders with their reserved seats that will not be re-sold even if they do not show up. Then there's the student section. Then there's the 1900 capacity.

All in all, you're looking at a few hundred tickets going on sale half an hour before puck drop. If you don't get one of your school's allotted tickets, get there early ;)

Just to make a correction here: On Behind the Bench last night, Emery reminded us that school is not in session, and so the student section is considered general admissions. That's a couple hundred more tickets in the pool.

Yes, Section D, the far corner (opposite the enterance) in front of the band (if there is one) is reserved for students until a half hour before game time, with only locals and international students on campus, some of these seats will be available, better than nothing I guess.

Myself, I would have sent an e-mail to the season ticket holders, and made an announcement at the prior games asking anyone who is certain they wont be attending to donate their tickets (perhaps at the Will Call window) to the Friends of Plattsburgh for resale, with the proceeds split between the Friends of Plattsburgh and North Country Down Syndrome Association (NCDSA). As this is a holiday week, I am sure there would be MANY people willing to donate, but Bruce might loose a little revenue by not getting to sell the free student tickets.

Re: It's Primelink Week

Just checked the attendance from other Primelink games at Plattsburgh in the good old days:

2007/2008
2132 Friday
1995 Saturday

2003/2004
2174 Friday
2020 Saturday

I think capacity at Plattsburghis is around 1900, hence, it may not be worth the trouble to drive over and have to beg someone from another team for a ticket. I not sure when the renovation was completed at Stafford but I think it was after 2007. Maybe it is no big deal because I have always been able to buy a ticket as long I get there early. How has the attendance at Plattsburgh been this year?

Re: It's Primelink Week

there are always around 400 or so tickets available at the door, add to that the 400 tickets they put aside for the students and that puts you around 800 tickets available to the public to purchase friday afternoon.

What time does the box office open and would you expect it to be sold out by 4 pm?

Re: It's Primelink Week

Primelink tickets:

Is the ticket good for 2 days or do you have to buy one each day?

There are only 300 tickets reserved for students, and certainly some will be taken by students, I'm thinking 600-650 total available tickets for the door would be a generous estimate, that said I doubt getting a ticket will be difficult - getting a good, unobstructed view - not so likely - and for visitors the student section is on the visitors end for the 1st & 3rd periods. As noted, the "afternoon" will start at 2:30pm, tickets are $12 each day, but are good for both the 4pm & 7pm games (except the 50 free "visiting team" tickets).

When do Plattsburgh students pick up their tickets?

Re: It's Primelink Week

When do Plattsburgh students pick up their tickets?

Since the website assumes ALL games start at 7 pm, and states:

New this year, Plattsburgh students will be able to obtain tickets on the night of the game between 5:30-6:30 pm at the Field House Box Office Will Call window.

One could extrapolate (assume), that a 4pm start would mean the tickets would be available starting at 2:30pm.

or

Any other questions in regards to tickets should be directed to the Field House at (518) 564-4062.

Stafford still supports numbers like those with SRO seats. And SRO DOES NOT MEAN the rail positions, like I know you're all thinking. Let's all calm down a bit. These renovations were not unwarranted in way. You all always forget about the Morrsiville games when 900 people showed up and only think about the Oswego and playoff games when there are 3,000+ people there. For the normal attendances for any other regular season game, and including PrimeLink this weekend, stafford holds more than 2,000 if necessary.
