"failed to meet Beany's expectations, or something" Indeed. Whatever they are. Without malice I am curious to see what happens if Midd loses both at the Primelink. If we are defined by how we face and handle adversity then Coach B's reaction will be worth seeing. Same can or could be said about Emery. A final note on Midd in the for what it is worth category. I believe that you can't win in today's Dlll with an all Prep line up. Compete maybe, win it all, no. Middlebury is a top heavy Prep line up. In the final analysis the lack of junior seasoning will hurt you. Harvard is tasting that at Dl. Equally true in Dlll.

I think it was the loss rather than the lack of "compete" that grated. Is "compete" defined by winning or losing ? Even though as Coach B said "he has had hundreds of those" When it comes to oblique I bow to the master in Middlebury.

To elaborate on my "Teaching Point" post; it was indeed a reference to his public comments about those failing to "compete". Beaney has basically said, if the boys don't put out a 100% effort, then he'll play someone who will, even if their talent level is lower than those sitting out.

"Basically" Thank you for the interpretation. It will be interesting to see how those players react to that form of commentary on their efforts. Early in the season and somewhat precipitous to be benching 5-6 guys. A one on one talk with explanations at this point might be more productive. If the pine does not work what then?? It makes for a long resentful season with players at odds with coach..
Teaching points aside as an outsider it whiffs faintly of desperation. I like that.

Benching players and going public with it isn't a new stategy. If they lose.....it's on the boys that aren't putting in the effort, and if they win,....he's a genius. At some point however, he's going to need to find what buttons need to be pushed to get the under performers turned around. If Beaney loses these guys it's going to be a long season.

I think the entire thing in Midd is just a ploy to increase interest and attendence. Instead of the Panthers just walking away with it Beaney has decided to give the rest of the league a head start or hanidcap. He will now turn it on and win the NESCAC in grand fashion.;);)

Let's not forget that McShane made his own "teaching point" with a few of the NU guys on Friday night. I don't know what the team rule violation was, but Mike does that when the fellas don't live up to expectations off the ice. I know of talented players back in day who had to sit out games for cutting classes. This ultimately is DIII hockey, and learning is part of the deal.

Hey, I've got the Primelink webcast of the games. Video is great but the audio of the second game is both the sportscasters and the Primelink commercials running simultaneously. It's terrible so I just cut out all audio. If this is part of a Plattsburgh school program I'd say they get failing grades for this kind of glitch.

Anyone know of tickets available for the final Primelink game b/t Norwich and Plattsburgh tomorrow at 7PM. I will be in P-burg and want to see this! Might need 3 tickets. Didn't look too packed tonight for either game. Anyone know my chances of getting in at the door?:confused:

Question about Stafford --
Noticed that the goal judge (nice that you have them!) raised a paddle when the puck went in. Is this because with the main scoreboard on the fritz, the goal lights don't work, either??
