Will Friday Night's game be on the Big Ten Network I wonder? I hope so. I have heard that Saturday's game will be on Comcast. Does anyone know what channel I can find Comcast on the Dish Network?

The B1G is showing the basketball tourney on Friday, so it will not be there. The only options look like Comcast. And if you are serious about finding Comcast on Dish Net, you are out of luck. The Comcast net channel that occasionally shows college hockey is available only on Comcast cable. And then if they do show any of the games it would only be on in Comcast systems in Michigan and the South Bend tv market in Indiana.

Two weeks ago, I figured Notre Dame would be sitting the upcoming round out. Glad to be wrong. My thought now is we'll be sitting out the next one instead. I can't remember when Michigan last missed the CCHA final four. We did outplay them here in the first game of the January series. Hunwick outplayed everyone the next night. But winning in Yost in a playoff atmosphere is an almost impossible task. The worst part of all of this is we should not have been in this situation. Now that we are, I'd love to be proven wrong again. I'd consider the season to be a success at that point, regardless of what happened afterwards.
But remember, winning there is an ALMOST impossible task. Eventually, they will lose another playoff series there. I've seen the team that is capable of doing it.

Good luck to you guys. Most teams playing at Yost need it. Have your guys keep their heads up as they don't have plexiglas at yost, it's more like bank window glass. I've seen guys over 220 lbs through their whole weight against it and not a quiver from it. Kinda dangerous in my opinion.

Thanks for the good wishes. Too bad it will take more than luck. Michigan has a huge series winning streak at Yost (posted in their thread that 1989 was the last time they lost) and has made the CCHA finals in Detroit every year since 1990. Our chances may lie in them being OVER confident. This should be a great series between two very evenly matched teams.

I'd really enjoy watching this weekend from the comfort of my recliner but I don't even see streaming listed yet for the games not covered by comcast. Hope it posts later on Michigan's website that it's being offered. Although I hated the outcome it was appreciated none the less that ND offered the free streaming for our matchup last weekend.

As elated as I was Saturday night, I was that anxious yesterday. The thought that this season could end this weekend just is not acceptable. But then I thought about it. This is not 2010. We don't have the egos, the injuries or the never-quite-getting-it-done play. This team is close. Family-close. (FTB.) This team has lost relatively little to injury. (Only 3 players come to mind who have missed more than 2 games.) This team has proven they can get it done. (UMD. BC. BU. Minny. Michigan. 11-game unbeaten streak.)

I'm tired of reading all about Michigan's monumental post-season records and how long it's been since they've lost a playoff series at home. That makes for confidence in your program. But it doesn't make for future victories.
Comparing the top players per class, we stack up pretty well with Michigan (ND's 4 players total 108 points while Michigan's total 109 points). Alex Guptill is a hot newbie with 31 points who also leads the team with 5 PPG's. Austin Wuthrich is our leading newbie with 17 points. Mac Bennett is Michigan's top sophomore. He's got 19 points. Our top 2nd-year guy is T.J. Tynan who has a whopping 41 points. The top juniors are Lee Moffie (29 pts.) and Riley Sheahan (24 pts.). Top seniors would be David Wohlberg (30) and Billy Maday (26). Maday also shares the lead with Anders Lee in PPG's with 7 apiece. Each of those groups has registered 4 points against the other this season.
Shawn Hunwick's numbers are solid. He's got a GA of 2.04 (1.5 in the earlier series) and a save % of .932 (.959 in that series with us). Steven Summerhays' numbers are getting there. His GA is 2.47 (1.5 in that series here) and his save % is .908 (.945 against Michigan this season).
Michigan's PP is 16.4% while their PK is 84.4% (for a combined special teams score of 100.8). Notre Dame's PP is 19.2% and their PK is 82.1% (for a combined score of 101.3). The 3 goals Michigan scored here were all PPG's. The 3 goals ND scored (I'm not counting the ENG) were all even strength goals.

Without reading all 27 pages of your thread, was wondering if anyone has info on the 2012-13 schedule. I was looking at heading your way for the UMD series. Our people have it October 18/19/20 weekend.. most saying it will be a Thursday/Friday series because of football. Is that something that is regularly done? I have a hotel room already, pretty spendy Friday/Saturday because of football I gather. How hard are football tickets to come by? They play BYU that Saturday so I suspect a bit easier than others... I have a couple contacts in Chicago who may have ticket connections, just wondering your opinions. Sorry for all the questions, I'm looking forward to seeing your new barn! Looks great on TV.

Thursday/Friday series have been done for distant teams when there is a football game on the weekend. Your schedule is likely correct, but Notre Dame doesn't release upcoming schedules as soon as most teams. Ours this season was released in June of 2011 if memory serves, and that was a month earlier than normal. Football tickets are easy to come by on the secondary market. I know people who go to multiple games every year and never bother to secure tickets until they get to Notre Dame. For most games in recent seasons the visiting team has returned tickets and they get sold first come first served to the general public. Watch the South Bend Tribune or the UND.com website for that sort of availability. As always, how you get tickets/what you pay/what's available depends on the record. Notre Dame could have any sort of record by the time that game rolls around. BYU is actually an interesting match-up for Notre Dame, and it isn't one of our traditional opponents (like Navy, Purdue, USC) so the demand may be higher than you expect.

I checked on this today while at practice. It turns out that the Compton is not yet set up to provide this service, but they hope to have it up and running for next year.

Well, I did it. I was able to talk Mr. JJfP into making the trek to Yost with me. It was either that or I was going alone. It's been decades since I've been there. At least my anxiety is waning. Now it's just nervous excitement. To quote William Elliott Whitmore, "Let's do somethin' impossible. Let's do somethin' grand."

I don't know if you're superstitious, but you apparently believe in miracles on ice. You should ask Dave Gilbert if he still has a team good luck charm given to him from when they beat #1 Michigan at the Frozen Four. IIRC, it worked.
If he needs a reminder, it is big, long, red canvas and says "CCM on both ends and "USA" on the side.

If the hotel rooms end up being too pricey for you, consider looking at rooms in Elkhart or Goshen. They are my typical football weekend places to stay. Hampton Inn Goshen and Hampton Inn Elkhart, Sleep Inn Elkhart have all served me well. Note however our usual approach is to drive up from Indy Saturday morning for the game, get dinner after the game, get to the hotel around 10 and be gone in less than 12 hours.
As for tickets, as previous poster noted very little trouble in getting football tickets, especially for BYU. If you want them in hand, a call to the ND ticket office the week of the game will likely get you tickets from "returns". Might need to call each morning (at 8:30 Eastern) before they have some, but unless its USC or Michigan, that approach has always worked for me. Football tickets easier to find than hockey tickets.

Picked up my tickets this afternoon. Ticket office said: "These are the only tickets they have sold". Crap only 4 of us going into the belly of the beast, hope my voice holds out!!
