Incredibly Dull Boring 2022 Pairwise and Tournament Possibilites Thread

And, this site's scoreboard is down, and the other site's hasn't reopened the game yet. I might follow on BSU's twitter...

CCHA website explains what is going on. About the additional camera angles showing the puck going under the frame, and the game is still on.

Thanks. I got all the information. I was more saying....everything is messed up tonight, and it's going to take awhile to sort everything.

Back to the PWR....

It seems regardless of the MSU/BSU game that MSU ends up #2 in the PWR.

Can anyone use the eastern teams to fill both Albany and Worcester?

Allentown: Michigan v AIC, North Dakota v Notre Dame
Worcester: Mankato v Harvard, Quinnipiac v UMass
Albany: Western Michigan v Northeastern, Minnesota v St Cloud
Loveland: Denver v Lowell, Minnesota-Duluth vs Michigan Tech

So, I'm assuming the idea here is that, if anyone can bring fans to Allentown, it's North Dakota? Good theory.
It would have been much nicer had Clarkson won instead of Harvard, so that Clarkson could be in Albany....

The only series in question is probably who does Quinnipiac and North Dakota play (UMass or Notre Dame)

Well, I don't think there's a clear cut way of coming up with this bracket. It will all depend on if anyone actually cares about attendance.

Loveland:

1. Denver
2. Minnesota-Duluth
3. Michigan Tech
4. UMass-Lowell

Albany/Allentown:

1. Michigan
2. Quinnipiac
3. Notre Dame
4. AIC

Worcester:

1. Minnesota State
2. North Dakota
3. UMass
4. Harvard

Allentown/Albany:

1. Western Michigan
2. Minnesota
3. St. Cloud State
4. Northeastern

Michigan/ND is probably best case scenario for Allentown but Albany would be a complete disaster. With the big alumni bases, I think putting the Michigan/ND band in Albany might be best and then is there any way to help Allentown? Perhaps flipping North Dakota and Minnesota?

I think Allentown is a lost cause for attendance, but the NCAA can say it tried by sticking two BTHC teams there. Plus, the NCAA doesn't care - it already has the money. The organizers are on the hook.

So, I think we have: (EDITED: My CHN Numbers came back funky the first time)

1. Michigan
2. Minnesota State
3. Western Michigan
4. Denver
----------------------
5. Minnesota Duluth
6. Minnesota
7. North Dakota
8. Quinnipiac
----------------------
9. Notre Dame
10. St. Cloud State
11. Massachusetts
12. Michigan Tech
----------------------
13. Massachusetts Lowell
14. Northeastern
15. Harvard
16. AIC

Pure Serpentine creates an intra-conference matchup between North Dakota (7) and St. Cloud State (10). So, we have to swap someone. Question is do we give SCSU to Quinnipiac or Minnesota?

Here is how I think the committee will handle

Albany:
1. Michigan v. 16. AIC
8. Quinnipiac v. 10. St. Cloud State

Allentown:
2. Minnesota State v. 15. Harvard
7. North Dakota v. 9. Notre Dame

Worcester:
3. Western Michigan v. 14. Northeastern
6. Minnesota v. 11. Massachusetts

Loveland:
4. Denver v. 13. Massachusetts Lowell
5. Minnesota Duluth v. 12. Michigan Tech

No issues with intra-conference matchups now. Last year the committee didn't care about travel, so I don't think they will this year either. In any event, Loveland is locked. ECAC is hosing Albany and gets their top team. Worcester gets two Massachuetts' schools. Allentown is a waste regardless.

You are the committee gave me different numbers than this

I'm blanking on the teams, but late 80's / early 90's era national title game that there was a controversial play where it looked like the team may have scored, but it was ruled a no-goal. Game either finished in OT or was a 1-goal nailbiter.

Maybe they can go back and review it again? : p

Or maybe a regional game in Fargo a few years ago. I'm sure you know the one.

Hah, yes. That would require replaying the rest of the tournament too!

My memory seems to recall LSSU was involved. They were just in so many dang NCAA Title games back then that I can't remember which one. Perhaps the '93 title game against Maine?
