If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

You don't think other teams wish they could win titles with rarely having to leave the state to recruit? I think you're wrong.

And when your team has done something no other team has been able to do (see above), you are going to naturally take pride in that.

you still didnt answer me. what part of minnesota were vanek and haula from?

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

I'd rather win with Americans. The Minnesota thing is just gravy.

BC had two Canadians in the lineup against the Gophers. You had one guy from Finland. What a huge difference!!! I'm sure if it was reversed you'd be saying "well we don't recruit Europeans, just North Americans". What a turd you are.

So you wouldn't want your program run by Jerry York instead of Don Lucia? And you wouldn't trade your zero titles since '03 for BCs three?

Hahaha.... So now you're resorting to cherry picking time frames to make your point look better. How about titles from 2002-2006? Let's completely ignore the fact that Don was ill for a while.

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Haha everyone should just consider the source here...

True enough, happy did start the thread and he is the biggest *****hat of them all... you will have to settle for a close second.

I don't need to cherry pick a timeframe. We can go back to 2002 if you want or simply examine the York/Lucia era at their respective schools. You are the only Gopher fan who would rather have Lucia and his accomplishments.

Now I've read and reread this thread, but I'm still not sure about something: has anyone in the last decade won a title with an entirely American roster? Or even more impressive, with over 96% of their roster from their home state.

Again, all I have to do is consider the source.

Doesn't matter if they won or not...this is simply about pride!!!

Again, way to ignore the fact that Don was ill for a while, and that Mike G has been away. Thanks for keeping the top spot warm for us :)

Minnesota was last to do it, in 2001-02, so no. I think they'll do it again soon though :)

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Ahh I get it now. Lucia's illness and not having Mike G as an assistant are the reasons why BC has been able to go on this run. Otherwise, the Gophers would have done it. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Hey, if the roles were reversed I'd have no problem saying BC was envious of Minnesota for this run of success. Guess that's the difference between us.

I'll give you this. You are the best in the business at putting words in people's mouths.

not since the 60s i think

Win 10 more titles and I'd still not be envious of your program. Win a few in a row with Americans and you'd have my respect. Win a few more with americans and I would be envious.

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

OK then, you tell me. What would have happened if Don was healthy and Mike G was an assistant years ago?
