USCHO 2013 Dead Pool submissions are now being accepted. Please submit your list of 30 people to tjbraun at gmail dot com by the end of the day on 3/10/2013. This contest will start once your list is submitted and go through 3/1/2014. If anyone on your list dies during that time you will receive points calculated as follows:
1) A point for each year under the age of ninety for the person on March 10, 2013, example: Jimmy Fallon is currently 38, if you picked him and he dies you would 90-38 or 52 points
2) Bonus points will be awarded if you are the only contestant that selected a given person to die in the amount of 50 points
3) The fetus rule is in effect, if a person you pick is pregnant when she dies, and takes the fetus with her, you get a bonus in the amount of 100 points
Note, if you are not the only person who selects someone over the age of 90, you and all the other contestants who selected that person will received negative points.
Eligible picks are (and these aren't set in stone, there are some people that are hard to put into a category):
Movie/TV - Actors, Actresses, Producers, Directors, Reality Stars, Comedians, Hosts, Singers
Politics - National elected officials of the USA, Governors, Supreme Court Justices, Current and Former Presidents/VP, Cabinet Members, Foreign Presidents/Prime Ministers, Royals, Prominent Spouses, High Ranking Military Leaders, Mayors of Large Cities, High ranking Judges
Sports - Current and Former Players, Coaches, Owners, GM's, Referees, Announcers, Commissioners
Others - Radio Personalities, Writers, CEO's, High Profile Criminals (cannot be on death-row), Religious Leaders, Musicians, Composers, Scientists
People that are famous only because they're the oldest man/woman/survivor of wars, fattest, dumbest person, etc will not be allowed.
Protests of the validity of picks will be allowed until March 17 at which time we will review any protests and make a decision. Do not make your posts public until I confirm we have closed submissions. We have a thread dedicated to these discussions here:
