Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

I just remembered the prisons are packed with bu med students, looks like they won't have anywhere to put us.

I've been waiting for that to come up on this forum... glad I wasn't the only one thinking it

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

BU...to work with the world’s deadliest pathogens, including Ebola and plague.

Whose idea was it to give the geniuses over at BU the bloody plague to play around with?? I guess it was bound to happen...

Actually it was the government's. BU along with another school (I believe Texas) was awarded a grant to build such a facility for high level bio-testing. This is what happens when you're a highly respected institution. Please check your facts next time before you try to make an attempt at an insult.

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Check my facts? If you kindly scroll up, you'll find not one but two question marks there...

They call that a question buddy, not a statement of fact.

And after such a mistake was allowed to happen, by such a "highly respected institution," (fact check here please??) it was a question worth asking.

Anyways....

I hope they did a hell of a job reinforcing the roof at Matthews, cuz it's going to be shaking in there... Looking forward to a great night of hockey after a long bye week

25 was right, you really are an interesting feller.

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

I'm thinking a 2-2 tie or something like that. BU's still trying to find the offense and until they do these games are going to be a bit of a struggle.

Regarding attendence, I hear the place will be practically empty as word got out that the state will be conducting a sweep for parole violators amongst the NU student population tonight, which pretty much affects the entire student body. :D ;)

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

bu players are not going to be thrown off their game by a loud Matthews. They are to well coached for that to happen. If anything, the only person who is going to have an issue is Rawlings since it seems he get nervous every time out. The more energy in the building the worse his first period is. We should all probably sit on our hands until he mentally gets himself into the game.

Henderickson picking us to sweep this weekend is a kiss of death on any points. We probably lose tonight, and have a better fighting chance tomorrow at getting something out of the weekend.

Even a hurt bu team, while not man for man better then what we can throw out, definitly has a mental edge over our guys. No matter what we do, and how well we play, the bu players seem to know that a bounce, or a break, or something is going to their way if they keep the game close and keep playing their style.

Keep in mind, in our best season ever, we did not even have a LEAD against them last year. Maybe if we get up 1-0 tonight, we can call that a moral victory. What ever best we can put up, they are always just a little bit better.

It reminds me of the Patriots-Colts, or in this case Patriots-Chargers from this decade. The Chargers have never gotten past the Patriots in any game that matters, no matter how many mistakes the Patriots make, the Chargers do one more dumb thing. We all know what the end result is going to be. Now, if we could ever be the Colts, take our lumps, screw up game after game, but eventually get over the hump, who knows, we could start rattling off some more wins in some more important games.

Even if NU wins tonight, in a game the first weekend of November that really wont make or break either team's season, eventually we will have to beat bu when it counts, when there is something real on the line. Wheter its Beanpot, or for home ice, or even a few years back, the 8th and final playoff spot.

bu is always just enough better then we are.

I dont go to BC but Over/Under on the amount of backdoor PP goals for bu, the line is set at 3.

I would argue that this has actually been one of BU's problems this year (not so much the last couple games, but definitely the first couple). There's been times when it looks like the team is just waiting for something to happen or just expecting something to happen, rather than actually making it happen.

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Also, a reminder to BU and NU fans alike that we'll be live blogging tonight's game (link to blog in my sig).

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Huskies01, good post. Valid points, but i have to tell you.. (especially for our freshman).. if they get to beat the National Champs tonight.. it is a morale booster at the least & might have a positive impact down the road in more than one way. Again, no easy task but even for Rawlings to get a 'W' with the place packed.. might get a taste of 'big gm picture' which will help him down the road be it HE playoffs or (hopefully).. beyond.

Let's get the 2 pts tonight. Go Huskies :)

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Colts? Chargers?

More like patsies and the bills! A team that couldn't beat the pats in a game that mattered, or he!! - any other team they played.

Holy cow. ONE season over .500 and you'd think we were playing the Russell led Celtics tonight! :p
