Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

I was referring to the season where we surprised the nation by winning as many games as we did, beating top rated teams, and making it to the NCAAs, after the team went through a 3-win season just years earlier.

But if you'd like to discuss this after the game tomorrow, I'll be more than happy to do so, tough guys

Settle down, settle down. Let's not forget that 95% of the bu fans on this board are a lot like this guy:

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

It took long enough!!! Finally the trash talking begins. Whew! I was getting worried.

"Beat BU" tshirts? Really? That's weak. I'm hoping the guys who sell the "Sucks to BU" shirts on the street outside Matthews aren't being screwed out of business!! I guess whoever is sponsoring the "Beat BU" shirts didn't think "Sucks to BU" was appropriate. :)

The school is behind the shirts, obviously. Although the "Sucks" shirts won't be losing any business. He charges $15 more. Supply & Demand 101 haha.

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Whose going to explain the meaning of the phrase "tongue in cheek" to the bu fans?

When choog posts a second time defending his first post's stance, and even takes shots at those questioning it, he loses the "tongue in cheek" angle, sorry.

Nice to have you back, Deuce...

Anyways... what's the story with the BU allotment of tickets? Did you guys end up getting any over there?

We did, I don't know what ended up being the sales numbers on them. I know Matthews said they weren't getting any back. I also know for fact that large numbers of students purposely bought them directly from NU to try and avoid seating clashes with the parents/season ticket holders.

I'd say it was a great season to build on moving forward much like 1989-90 was for BU, however I don't believe significant improvement is akin to glory days, but to each his own I guess.

As for the game BU will be missing Bonino, probably Warsofsky, and possibly Megan, in addition to Gryba being far from 100%. The team will be lightest at center, where they couldn't seem to win a faceoff, even when they were down just one center, and Defense where they let UML get tons of shots from within 5 feet. Also it will be every freshman on the team's first road sellout as a Terrier. If NU can't beat BU tomorrow I'm not sure when they will.

Well Mullins was about 100-200 short of capacity and they for some reason turned away about 500 students there apparently - so for all intents and purposes this is not the first sellout/amped crowd they've faced, and dont forget Lowell was fairly packed. That said, I agree we are quite vulnerable at this point in the season and we may need a Millan-specialty to pull off some wins until we get some of our guys back.

Something tells me you'll be joining the rest of the NU students in jail by the end of the game tomorrow. Thanks anyway.

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

Just read Hendrickson's HE picks for the wknd.. he is picking NU over BU & BC.. while i'd love to have the 4 pts this weekend, i think we will get 2.

If we do end up getting 4.. we've found our offense! Where were you guys ..in jail or something :)

Re: Huntington.Comm NU/BU 11/6

I just remembered the prisons are packed with bu med students, looks like they won't have anywhere to put us.
