Re: Hockey East 2010-2011

UNH has knocked on the door more than UVM--I'll take UNH to win a national title before UVM.

I agree.

As far as the ECAC goes... that league flat out stinks. But.. even though we all know Cornell is terribly overrated most years and their systems never work in the NCAAs over a potential 4-game run, I'd put them about even odds with UVM to get an NCAA title.

All a fun game to think about and nothing more since we probably won't see any of them win a title for the rest of our lifetime. Guess they'll all have to raise banners for moral victories, beating the likes of Yale and Air Force, and beating BC in the regular season (credit to Cornell for actually beating BC in the NCAAs, a rarity under York).

Re: Hockey East 2010-2011

If Vermont gets a new rink I could see them winning it all before UNH does. I feel like the talent level at UNH has taken a bit of a dip in recent years.

A lot of it depends on who the next UNH coach is after Umile finally gives it up.

Re: Hockey East 2010-2011

UVM will win a national title in mens hockey before anyone in the ECAC or UNH does

Hitting the pipe again? Cornell, Harvard, or Yale will win before UVM does. Brown may be years away from a title, but so is UVM. Brown doesn't have to deal with a BC or BU in their conference. I'd bet UVM is miles away from a conference title too. Hasn't UNH only won like 2 or 3 Hockey east titles while BC and BU have won almost 20 combined?

Re: Hockey East 2010-2011

BC has 9 titles, BU has 7, Maine has 5, UNH has 2 (as does Providence)

There definitely has not been a "share the wealth" mentality in HE:eek: 26 years of the league and 3 teams have 21 out of 26 or 5 teams have 25 out of 26...........who got the other one? ;)
hint , as was used as a clue before in another riddle, it's from the north or what ever

Haha you can't dismiss Northeastern in 1988, they had a great run that year!

You have to think as the 2010 talent pool is being marginalized by junior hockey, and players leaving early to go to the NHL that it will benefit the smaller schools. It's really a shame the players aren't choosing to stay longer, or in some cases go to college at all...but it may start to balance out those HE titles if the trend continues...

Just think though, if one more great year we're tied with UNH for Titles!

Re: Hockey East 2010-2011

In the next 10 years at least one HE team will win a national title and won't be BC, BU, or Maine. I'm not saying those schools won't win one but one of the other schools will pull it off.

Highly unlikely even 1 from outside that group can bag a title in the next 10, let alone perhaps more than 1. I'd put Maine at a longshot as well.
