Hobey Hat Trick

Re: Hobey Hat Trick

Struggling to get into college academically is in no way comparable to criminal behavior or getting kicked off a team.

Nobody compared the two. The point was that each candidate has past issues.

But I love the argument that Miele's troubles getting into college can't really be called 'academic' issues because those same troubles prevented him from officially being called a college student. If I rob a bank, you can't "officially" call me a bank robber until after I've been caught, tried and convicted. Works for me.

Re: Hobey Hat Trick

So now not only can't Miele read but he hired a freaking agent? Did the agent read the Miami entrance application to Miele while Rothlisberger raped Blasi and the University president in the background? Remind me again why this guy should even be up for the Hobey?

because he isn't some god-****ed foreigner.

it is part of the "strength of character" criteria. Since North Dakota is basically part of Canada, you wouldn't understand.

Well I guess haula is out of any future hobey debate and vanek should be shot too. You are a mindless fool Happy.

Oh boy, that is a massive reach, even for you! :D :D :D

I can frequently count on you for a hearty laugh. It's nice to see you didn't disappoint. ;)

Re: Hobey Hat Trick

He would have won this year if he had been able to play, but he was too shady and UND had to pull some major shenanigans to get him in. I hear he was playing pro with Yale Frenchies and Mulleted Russiean chicks.

Well he didn't rape anyone like Miele did, so perhaps.

Re: Hobey Hat Trick

Interesting tidbit:

"The folks over at Inside College Hockey have pointed out that Frattin has scored the majority of his points against the bottom five teams in the WCHA, scoring more than three times as many points per game against those teams than he did against the Sioux’s top six WCHA opponents. That compares most unfavorably to other top scorers in the WCHA, not to mention Miami’s Andy Miele in the CCHA, RPI’s Chase Polacek in ECAC Hockey, and Cam Atkinson in Hockey East."

That interesting tidbit didn't seem to stop Frattin from scoring the GWG in both Final Five games against CC and DU. :)
Nor did it stop him from helping his team reach the F4, while Miele, Polacek, and Atkinson's teams were all sent home in the 1st round.

Awfully defensive of you. So Frattin scored 2 goals that mattered all year...?

Not defensive at all. And nice work putting words in my mouth. :)
If you look at the bottom five teams in the WCHA (where supposedly Frattin scored all his points), there are still some quality teams there. Aside from Tech ( :( )...UAA, SCSU, MSUM, and BSU were all decent teams. So it's not like he was scoring all his goals against some ECAC teams or something. ;)
That, and stats like that one from INCH don't seem to matter much any longer being that Frattin is the only one still playing...while Miele and Polacek were shutout in their teams losses and Atkinson managed a goal in a game when CC blew out BC.

Well, we can argue until we're red in the face but we'll find out for sure on Friday. I still think it's Miele's trophy.
