Re: He's dead, Jim.

Former "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" contestant Caleb Bankston, 27, in a train "mishap. He was Colton's fiancé who criticized Colton for quitting, again.

The definition (insofar as reality show people are actual humans) of a nice person who enabled an awful person. He's definitely in a better place if he's not under Colton.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

Eli Wallach-The Magnificent Seven would have not been the same without him. He was 98. I believe only Robert Vaughn is now left form the stars of that cast.

Coburn is dead?!

Edit: Yikes, for 12 years. Musta missed it.

All: if you've never seen Baby Doll, go rent it right this minute. It's one of the best movies ever made, and it's Wallach's finest performance.

A Man of Integrity has died and we are thankful for the time he served this Nation.

RIP Howard Baker

Re: He's dead, Jim.

So you're saying he wasn't a survivor?

(Does anyone really care what happens to survivor people outside of their families? I hope not).

No, just like I don't care about which celebrity went shopping, etc. But, as someone who watched the show, I actually thought that Caleb would be the type of guy I would hang out with, he seemed like he would be a good guy. It's sad that he died, and since there are Survivor fans on this board, it warrants a mention in this thread.

Now we'll see whether the show tries to cash in by flogging his zombie footage, like Bachelorette.

I love the distinction people make between "reality show" fake tv and "drama" fake tv.

It's all fake tv, folks. Climb down off your high horses. If you don't like it, don't watch.

The closes thing to a truly reality-based reality TV show would have been the first two or three seasons of The Real World, but even veterans of that show talked about how the footage was heavily edited to make storylines out of situations much different than how the cast remembers them happening when in the house during filming.

I don't think they will, the major difference being the guy who died on that show died AFTER filming but BEFORE the show aired. Survivor:BvW has already aired in the US. Maybe they will try to do that in Europe, etc...but most likely it's done here in the US, except for DVD releases.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

I've seen some obits which claim Bob was the "Video Ranger" on the old Dumont show Captain Video and his Video Rangers. Actually, Bob's younger brother, Don, played that role. Bob played a character called Hal.

I think i might still have my secret decoder from that old show. I know i have a ring somewhere that i got by sending in 10 box tops from Ovaltine. Darn that is like going back to the dark ages.:o

I got a plastic "space helmet" for several Post Raison Bran box tops.
