HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

Re: HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

Well duh, UML is on a LOWER level than Providence.

'LOL' there.

As an aside, who's the member here who basically predicted this whole series to the Nth degree? I want to know what stocks to buy tomorrow. Don't say 'Apple;' I've already got enough of that :D

Outhit, outmuscled,outworked, outcoached....simple as that.

I'm wondering if our game plan just plain doesn't work with fatigued players... it really relies on being able to grind your way to an advantage and to get around people. That and we seem to get more fatigued than the other guys when playing multiple games in a short time frame.

PC did what they needed to do... they kept us away from the net and from being able to create sharp plays.

The game plan all weekend long by the Friars was to hit anything moving, get a lead, then trap for the rest of the game as long as they had a lead. Lowell had their size disadvantage exposed greatly and simply did not follow through with any semblance of physical play. Their forwards were stronger and faster than our defenseman and basically that was the whole series in a nutshell.

In both games where they had leads, they had four and five guys back at times in the neutral zone. Their trees on defense collapsed in front of Beaudry blocked shot after Lowell shot. Put simply, they were manhandled by stronger players and were pushed around with ease.

The PC coaches made that simple adjustment from last weekend and to their credit, they are the ones heading to the Garden.

Congrats to PC and their fans, good luck at the Garden next week.

I would have to agree with john about the team! Providence looked like the better team in the series!!!

That's the disappointing part. PC did the same thing for 3 games in a row and the Hawks still couldn't come up with an answer.

Great game plan by PC and congratulations on a big series win. Good luck at the Garden.

I had not been to Lowell since 2001-2002 season. I will have to say one thing....Great job by the UMass-Lowell adminstraition in making the River Hawks the biggest thing going on! It was a great day!

Now onto the game, Schaller makes such a major difference to the Friars program. I don't get how one guy makes such a major difference but the kid is the heart and soul of the Friars team.

Of course, that's why PC needs to win on Sat night to get to the NCAAs and we have a chance to still do it.

Go troll somewhere else; the better team won this weekend but this statement is just uncalled for.

He trolls someone who talked smack all day long. Please, it was justified.

The only thing I noticed him doing this weekend, especially in the first two games, was take really bad penalties. Lowell lost this series because they couldn't do the following:

- Beat the trap
- Beat the aggressive forecheck
- Win faceoffs
- Score a goal on Sunday.

Nothing big there... oh wait...

Re: HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

I might get to the Garden but I aint bringin Jon's alternator. Screw him. Happy to see those potty mouths from Providence trying to make some noise. :D (of course its an ex coach from Old Town high school doing all the work)

Re: HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

Wow, pretty surprising result, particularly with how UML manhandled Providence just one week before. Oh well, you guys still have the big tournament to look forward to and some time to figure out what went wrong.

And the standalone post on the thread about being a pretender also justified? A troll is a troll, stop defending it.

He can't have an opinion? I mean yeah it's annoying if your team just got upset but it's not like he insulted someone personally.
