HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

Re: HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

Any word on Budd for Sunday? They could use the grit.
I'm guessing he was a scratch, given that three were removed from the lineup in favor of three others. Guess it'll be up to what Norm thinks.

The highlights do not show the Schaller post in ot. However they do show the Mauerman post and that one definetly did not go in.
The one that hit the post. Since they reviewed it I assume/hope they got it right.

The Mauerman post was the one they reviewed. That's the one that looked very close. The Schaller one was all post. I don't think anyone thought that was in.

Indeed, from my view, it definately hit crossbar and a lot of people thought it may have snuck it. As they say, it's a game of inches.

The ending may have been the loudest I've heard that place in history and it was only 3/4 full.

I was also surprised that Budd sat last night. They need his size and strength especially since PC has been winning the battles along the boards.

I hope PC can come with energy and continue to take it to Lowell. Usually a lower seed only gets that one chance to deliver that knockout punch.

The only idea that I could come up with was added speed in Brickler. They are about the same size (both 6-0 appx 186 lbs), but Brickler has a clear advantage in the wheels department. McCoy for Buco may have been an added size advantage. 6-1 / 200 vs. 5-8 /175.

Either way Norm must have a clear plan on personnel today, 4 straight games against the same opponent should give him a clear idea on who matches up the best against them.

This is the kind of day u hope for when the team u support was picked dead last in the pre-season polls. GO FRIARS!!!

If you guys didn't start drinking at noon then I'm disappointed. Does the Beer Works do brunch specials?

I gotta get 9 holes in before i come home to listen to the game. I promise i will have a few then. Speaking of listening to the game, the lowell play by play guy is really good.

Should be a great game. I think PC finds a way to steal this one late.

Does Tsongas sell beer during the games? trying to get some more friends to make the trip and that typically sweetens the deal.

Great win for Nate and the Friars! This was a good matchup for PC as soon as i saw it last week, as opposed to one of the Boston schools of course. Now we get a trip to the Garden, should be fun for its been a long time since we've been there.

A sweet finish to the weekend. The first seventh place team to win a quarterfinal. PC is reborn. See you at the Garden.

BTW, I enjoyed the UML radio guys on the webcast. They call a good game.

Re: HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

Schaller's a good player, but come on. Lowell is on a completely different level than Providence. They just got their show run two straight games that weren't anywhere near as close as the score would indicate.

Unless Providence is going to clone Schaller half a dozen times, Lowell rolls two straight.

Yeah they are other wordly. Completely different level. Remind me of BC's 2001 championship team.

I'm embarrassed to say I thought Lowell would sweep. Shame on me as well.

Re: HEA Quarterfinals: #7 Providence @ #2 UMass-Lowell

Can't say I'm shocked. Lowell = pretender.

Not to take away anything from PC. Great job by Leaman to get these guys to the Garden.
