HEA prime time semi-final. bu & bc -wonder if anything is up for grabs?

Re: HEA prime time semi-final. bu & bc -wonder if anything is up for grabs?

Underwhelmed with what I've seen from BC lately. Aside from teams handing them games with 5x3 goals and own goals (Sat vs. UVM) and 5 min majors that result in multiple goals (PC game), I don't see BC actually going out there and taking much for themselves. The one exception being the last RS game vs. UVM. UVM is terrible and BC is in a world of hurt when they play a decent team. All BU has to do is hit the net on their chances. BC will turn the puck over a few dozen times. Milner will need to be incredible.

BC might have won their last game of the season tonight. And that is not sandbagging.

Last time BU and BC played in the Semi BU scored 3 goals in 44 seconds to then go on and luck out against lowell. The 2009 BU team was better than either of those 2 teams at the time and definitely deserved to win, but they way they did erred towards luck.

really not sure they were the better team at the time ..........did they deserve to win against UNH on sunday night? or did they deserve to win vs Vermont? did they deserve to beat Miami? did they deserve to win the UML game? or the BC game where they were out played for most of the game? They were obviously the best team over the course of that year but sure carried a rabbit's foot around for the last 5 out of 6 games ...........as far as BC is concerned, what Carmine said above. The cavalry comes in next year, we'll be back with a BC type team . Didnt see the game last night , was there Friday. Nothing i've seen or heard leads me to believe they are ready to make a run. They just don't have enough talent on this squad. The fact that they are a #1 seed this morning is laughable. Maybe the worst #1 seed at this late point in a season I can remember

What's all this "deserve" ****? You go out and take it.

I concur with Carmine as well. I don't see us taking the HE trophy, but l I think we have a FF chance if we stay in Providence or Manchester. If that happens, I think the return trip from Pitt will be quicker than usual.
Last night was U_G_L_Y. We finally started to play well in the 3rd, but by then, PC was exhausted from parading in and out of the box.

BU smacks us around on Friday and advances.

i know, deserve was a poor choice of words but he used deserved so i did. They may have not been the best team on the ice that day 5 out of the last 6 games, that better?

Re: HEA prime time semi-final. bu & bc -wonder if anything is up for grabs?

BU needs to make sure we still have 18 players for next weekend...

Re: HEA prime time semi-final. bu & bc -wonder if anything is up for grabs?

Looking at BU's stats, I would reckon that their 3rd and 4th lines are actually worse than BC's 3rd and 4th lines, which isn't surprising considering all the players that have left the team this year. On paper, BC is still the better team, but that all goes out the window with the Parker retirement/York surgery situation.

I'm not so sure that at this point in time we are a better team. They are on an upswing, can't say the same for us but at least we are in reasonably good health finally

By what measure are we not on an upswing? 3-0-1 in last 4; 4-1-1 in last 6; 5-2-1 in last 8; 8-3-2 in last 13 and that's playing through a myriad of crippling injuries. I think Alber is going to make a VERY big difference back there on D.

let me put it this way........do you think this team is playing well right now? we played one good game out of 4 vs Vermont but putting those four aside because it was UVM , they went 2-3-1
Loss at Mack
Tie at home vs UNH
W OT at Mack
L at home vs UML
W at PC
L at home vs PC

2-3-1 against good opponents but the main thing is that they are still not putting 60 minutes of good hockey together , there is no evidence that this team is going on a BC type run to the FF. I'm just not seeing it

agree on Alber, that is a big positive going forward

...and you don't think injuries had anything to do with those losses?

yes, of course . Maybe having the full squad together for a few games will help this coming weekend . i hope so, i just dont like the way they are playing. Its as smooth as broken glass. They just dont look like a very good hockey team

You’re absolutely correct. I think everyone by now has acknowledged (and this came up over and over during the whole “debate” about how winning that year delayed dealing with the whole Parker “situation”) that they won with sheer talent. How many players from that team are in the NHL now (or have been)? Seven? Did they peak at the right time of the year? Well, that depends on how you look at it (for those who wanted blood and wanted to see us demolish everyone and dominate like we did most of the year, no). Did they have the best team, though? I think that’s an unequivocal YES.
