My actual favorite FC cartoon went something like this:

Kids and Dad are standing at a vending machine as Dad feeds coins to it. One of the kids, Billy IIRC, says "Can I kick it this time Daddy?!?"

In the early days of the strip the Dad character was called "Steve" and not "Bill." I don't know the story behind why Bil Keane changed it. Does anyone else?

This....

Wonder if the other Big Cartoonist will give him a tribute in their's this Sunday.

Don't the strips need more lead time. I know in reading the biographies of Shultz that I have read it used to be something like 4-6 weeks, shorter for the daily strips, and longer for Sunday.

This may be entirely in bad taste...

...but keep an eye on Joe Paterno. People who have lived for something as long as he has tend to give up the ghost quickly after it's gone. He might not make it a month. Also consider the mind-boggling amount of stress the poor guy is going to be under.

No it's not, and you're not the only one who's thinking these thoughts.

But, if he dies within 30 days he's going to be held as a martyr and the BoT as the executioners.

I posed that question last night in the PSU thread. I'm wondering myself.
