Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

This gets even better:rolleyes:

So after some phone calls, I find out that the DMV did receive my form... However the form was "incomplete" because my doctor didn't put the date on a line.... She accidentally covered the line when she stamped the form with her address... Now, I can understand how a missing date can be important...

The problem is that the date appears on the form in THREE other places... I mean, I know that IL politics can stand in the way of a lot of things, but JFC

Do you really think that I had my doctor fill out the medical questions on one day, have her list my prescriptions on another, and then see her a 3rd time so she can put her contact information on the **** sheet    She even dated the sheet when she put her signature on the bottom of it

I am not even going to get into the hoops I have to jump through now to get my license back... Right now I am looking at not being able to drive for 2-3 weeks just because one line was accidentally covered up... THIS IS ****ING BULL ****!

Get a lawyer. Preferably one that specializes in traffic offenses, license suspensions, DUI, etc. If the bullplop continues, inform them you'll be speaking to him. That tends to wake people like this up.

I'll tell you what grinds my gears, a customer gets a competitor of mine to do some work for him. When the guy screws it up, they call me at night to come fix the F'in problem. Call the F'in guy who did the work to come fix his F up

Better yet, threaten to contact a local TV station and tell them how the DMV is biased against people with medical disorders.

It's Illinois (specifically the Chicagoland region), they're not going to care.

This is the same state that is making Winger jump through EVERY hoop, down to making her road test AND log the required hours to get her CDL Bus endorsement, even though EVERY OTHER state would accept a transfer of her CDL from Massachusetts.

Take public transportation there and shoot the place up.

Triple your rates for this work.

You don't even have to get a lawyer. Just tell them you have one. Ask for their name and the address where you can serve them with legal documents. Those 2 lines cut through about 50% of all red tape (and not just gov't red tape, but corporate tape too).

Really? Not around here with any of my friends. The joint won't respond for a week or two, doesn't get anything in the mall and isn't contacted by phone. Then they feel confident that you are bluffing and will call you on it.

I agree that spending money on a lawyer in this situation is silly, though.

Eh, maybe you just fall on the other 50% often? I usually find it at least gets my problem a little more attention.

!
No, the problem is your doctor blocked the date. As much as this sucks for you...it's on her, not the DMV.

If you were to get into an accident and someone got seriously hurt, the DMV could be sued for allowing you to continue with your driving privileges simply because the date was blocked.

Humidity.

Because its been such a humid summer in Milwaukee, my backyard is completely loaded with bugs (mostly mosquitos). It's really freaking annoying, and once it gets a little dark outside, you can't open a door without letting in a dozen or so bugs.

On the plus side, I am enjoying watching my cat hunt these bugs. She's been shockingly successful.

Can I borrow your cat?

Very humid summer. I've had my AC on more this summer than in the past 4~ years. I can handle heat. Can't handle humidity.

Had a softball game tonight in Waukesha. We beat the other team but we lost to the mosquitoes. And they aren't as bad as the gnats. Those little *****s swarm in your face under the visor of your cap.

I wish it would freakin snow.

Noxeema (sp?) on your arms and shoulders, and/or a dryer sheet under your baseball hat works to keep most of the bugs away. Obviously bug repellant works for the rest of them. Sure, you'll smell funky, but there's always a price to pay.

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

On the same subject (sort of) with the humidity and massive amounts of rain we've had, our yard has been a mushroom factory all summer. It's always a pain the the arse to even walk the dog to try and make sure she doesn't eat them. And you can't do anything to prevent them, which makes them teh suck even more.

Now that you mention it... I always heard that about Loves Baby Soft (whatever that is).

I just go with many layers of DEET.

Finding out a worker tried to throw you under a bus.

Co-worker at our off-site left his IM open on a shared computer (and due to it being away from the main building, and it's the only computer there, we share the sending-IM when we're both there). Saw "don't send him down here. I don't trust him" and "he just does whatever he wants, doesn't really help."

I get back to the main building, and Cool Boss asked me what Person was so mad about; I told him he was mad that Cool Boss sent me down there, he didn't think he needed help (he did need it). Cool Boss asked if I read Person's IMs. I said no, and Cool Boss laughed and said "Oh you should have. He was going ballistic."

I'm wondering if Person feels threatened, because he's often missing target times for trucks leaving there, and I've yet to miss one when I've been there. Either way, * that guy.
