Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

You must be insane. No one else has said anything about it and I don't friend anyone on Facebook or use any applications.

I got a Facebook message from (your name), asking me to compare scores or something and telling me to click a link. Dunno why, and I didn't click to see what would happen.

I got that as well from a friend.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that you can avoid ALL, and I mean ALL, facebook problems....

By

not doing facebook.

(i still don't get it- I see some benefits, like how my wife was able to join a HS reunion of hers. But outside of that- I looked at a few FB pages of "interest"- noted that they didn't ever update, so the futility was duly noted)

Actually- that grinds my gears- when people pretend that they can get in touch with you via facebook- implying that THEY are so important that I want to see every little thing they do. if it's important that I know- contact me directly. If not, assuming I'll pay attention to your facebook page is weak. Facebook does a great thing by making of equal imprtance that you played a game in the morning and that you are hosting a wedding that I should be at. Which tells me that you have the same priority of the game and the important event, OR that the important event, well, isn't.

You're the old man that yelled at johnnypohlfan, aren't you?

Probably.. darn kids these days.

I remember walking to school in the middle of summer in a blizzard uphill both ways. 6 feet of snow, and the sun was bearing down on me. And air quality? Through the smoke of the coal fires, and the acid rain that was with the nasty blizzard.... If you've never experienced getting heat stroke and a sun burn with frostbite, hypothermia, and exhaustion- you have never lived... Especially living off of scraps.

Kids and thier computers... :p

Funny- I thanked a guy for holding the door open for me, fully knowing he was holding it open for women. He replied "I wasn't holding it open for you a-hole".
That seems like a rational response. People sneaking through doors being held open for others are worse than Hitler!

NewBoss.

Me: say, could you keep the lines per task priority at about 25 or so? If you boost it to 30+, priorities overlap, and I fall behind.

NewBoss: Well, I know you're the fastest, so I figure we can do that.

NO YOU MORON. YOU CAN'T. If I'm the fastest (which I probably am), and I have trouble keeping up at times, then what does that tell you? Do the same with the second-fastest guy, and he gets absolutely buried, and you have to send a second guy to that area.

Yeah, this will be mentioned in my review. It's insane. Using an average of 100, I'm hitting 160-180 on the productivity requirements every day. That little *er better learn, and learn quick.

Run him over/impale him with your forklift.

Well, DHead Boss sees the numbers, so he kinda knows. When I spell out the specifics.....

CoolBoss runs the place well. It's NewBoss that has to learn, or he's gonna get an earful from the higherups because of bad numbers, etc.

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

Just got mine, from Jimmyjam.

Chat is now off.

Maybe it's just me, but I never have chat on unless requested by another person that wants to chat. It's called email/AIM/phone. Sure it's quaint, but hey, no spam. ;)

Wait, really? Even with gmail, I still get some spam.
