True that, its not really a dusting that would just melt off in the afternoon. They've got some snow that would knock about any snowbelt city for a loop. And they have maybe one tenth of the gear to deal with it there.I dunno. I'm a snow snob, but looking at some of those pictures ... they did get hammered!
Now that would have been awesome. You know... I'd take off on what they said a bit... I'd build a snowman and then cue up for the next interview and do it off camera while focusing on the snowman.
Nice.I've grown impatient waiting for pictures from friends in my hometown, so I checked the online version of the paper.
Found this (from the Carroll County Times):
"1 a.m. Thursday: It appears most areas in Carroll received between 21 and 26 inches of snow from this storm. The unofficial reports from the National Weather Service are as follows: Westminster (26 inches), Eldersburg (24 inches), Lineboro (23 inches) and 22 inches six miles northwest of Manchester.
This means Westminster received 50 inches of snow from the back-to-back whopper storms."
And then I found this picture:

If the beer is in the trunk, then why did she bother with digging out her passenger side door??She left her beer in the trunk....
To get her insulin? How the hell should I know?If the beer is in the trunk, then why did she bother with digging out her passenger side door??
How's the forecast down there?
70 or so. I do have snow all around me at sight lines from my house. How's the forecast down there?
Actually quite wet. Humidity of 80% yesterday. We will have tripled our rain fall by the end of the month of what we had last year. 80 in the backyard with the concrete. I broke a sweat doing little yard work yesterday.I'll guess sunny, 80 degree highs (maybe 70-75). Dry. Yeah, no sh*. Dry.
She's a woman and you're expecting logic? If the beer is in the trunk, then why did she bother with digging out her passenger side door??
We got 17" in Allentown on Weds. My company actually closed for the day, and I don't remember the last time that happened. I was dug out by about 8 PM wednesday nite, and life resumed on schedule Thursday AM.
City streets in the downtown historical district were still in bad shape last night, since they need to haul it away somewhere rather than just plow it to the side, but other than that everything is moving again.
Serves you right for choosing P/A instead of Reunion.Goddammit, you east coasters (yeah I know I lived my first 18 years in VA but let's not bring reason into a rant) can have your stupid snow all you want, but not when it inconveniences me! I'm planning to travel to Ithaca this weekend for my annual weekend back and now we get a storm described by AccuWeather as "paralyzing blizzard", "snow hurricane", and "atmospheric monster". And of course I fly over night from Thursday to Friday, the worst days of it, though Newark to Ithaca, both of which may be smack dab in the middle.
To paraphrase some show I heard once "this is the worst kind of inconvenience, the kind that happens to me!".
Serves you right for choosing P/A instead of Reunion.
Because then you wouldn't get stuck in the snow, obviously.Yeah why would I blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Ah, that's a very good point. Did you see the pictures from tailgating before the UND game? That was some Ithaca weather we had, and it was a great time. It's crucial to the experience to say "Screw you, cold and wet and snowy weather, I do what I want. Whateva, I do what I want."But Ithaca with good weather is not really Ithaca.

In any case, have a good time. If we lose to Union, I'm holding you responsible.
