At least you can blame that on it being a dual purpose facility. Mariucci was built for hockey in general and the gophers in particular - so to bump them out of their building for the season ending series against their biggest rival in favor of something else is somewhere between blasphemous and criminal. If the team wasn't languishing in 7th and on its way to another season on the wrong side of the cut-line, a lot more people would be *'d off about this.

Come on!;) Without getting bumped, we would have never got to see the UAA series at the Coliseum. That was pretty sweet!:)

IMHO, not on par at all. Here's the HUGE difference: In Rodensota, Hockey is KING. In WI, hockey is the ugly stepchild. Hockey getting bumped for anything in rodentsota is a HUGE deal. Hockey getting bumped in WI is no big deal at all.

Psshhhttt. Someone at Mariucci was prescient. They knew the Gophers would play crap hockey this year, so they made them play in a crap hockey facility for one of their last home games on the season.

ANY outcome this weekend for UW wouldn't surprise me. 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 points. Nothing would surprise me.

for the record. I expect and suspect a split. not what I want as a fan, but realistic.

Yeah. We can throw the records out. Point taken. It is a rivalry game. Heck, even the crappy Minnesota basketball team beat the better UW team last week because they finally decided to play to their talent level. Could the same happen in hockey?

And a lot more people would be stupid for being so. The Gophers didn't get bumped because the sychornized skating thing was confirmed prior to Gophers' schedule being set. People need to stop manufacturing excuses for their umbrage.

btw, how relevant were the North Stars when they had their problems? The fact is the Gophers have to compete with several other entities in town while the Sioux and Badgers do not, so it is not unexpected nor any sort of sign that they don't draw as well in periods of poor play.

Apparently this series was originally scheduled as an away series in Madison and was later changed on this years schedule. There was some miscommunication with arena staff resulting in the situation as it is. The arena manager is taking the blame for the unfortunate mishap. But regardless of where they play, it doesn't mean squat if the Gophers can put a good game together on Friday night.

Great Point, i just think its funny, but the beer is the best news i could have gotten today, i'm still a bit numb from that gold medal game yesterday but that tidbit of news perks me up a bit

The real hockey games at Target Center this week happen on Wednesday. I am pretty sure that Minnetonka would give Wisconsin a hell of a lot more problems then the rodents will. :D
