A standoff overnight between Massachusetts State Police and “several heavily armed men” in the woods ended Saturday morning with 11 people arrested, authorities said.

The ordeal, which started during a police traffic stop, led to the shutdown of part of Interstate 95 and a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding area, police said.

The men were wearing what Massachusetts State Police Col. Christopher Mason described as tactical vests and military style uniforms, along with body cameras, and they were carrying a mixture of long rifles and pistols. The men indicated they were traveling from Rhode Island for “training,” according to Mason.

Mason said at a Saturday morning press conference that he was not aware of any specific demands by the group and that negotiators had been engaged with them to learn more.

The situation started around 1:30 a.m., when a state trooper saw two vehicles in the breakdown lane with their hazard lights on, Mason said.

The men claimed to be “from a group that does not recognize our laws,” according to a statement from the Wakefield Police Department

The trooper on scene requested driver’s licenses and firearms licenses, but the individuals either said they didn’t have them, or didn’t have them in their possession, Mason said.

At some point during this interaction, a number of the individuals ran into the woods with their firearms, Mason said. Police established a perimeter, and two people were initiallyarrested in the woodline, one of whom was armed, according to Mason.

Still, Y'all Qaeda spent a few hours stumbling around the woods with their guns, and after being taken into custody, two of the patriotic American militia super-soldiers requested medical treatment for their pre-existing conditions.

Lots of questions, why him and no one else? Whats stopping him from telling others to read those 2 files? Sounds like BS to make him look better?? or worse if you ask me. Although I doubt anything would have stopped W from getting revenge.

I tend to agree. At least then reporters could have started investigating and maybe we don't end up in the war. Or maybe we end up going alone. Maybe it ends sooner.

It's remarkable to me that he shared this story because it doesn't make him look good.

We don't know it was no one else, we don't know who was told to look. I doubt he was the only one...he is just telling the story cause his days are numbered.

And it likely changes nothing even if he tells the world. The GOP controlled The House and Senate (Senate was 50/50 with Cheney as the tie break) the war was happening. The second Colin Powell lied about the weapons there was no going back. Plus most of this country was still in the height of its jingoism. This is when Freedom Fries was a thing and even side eyeing the war a little bit lead to people saying "Why do you hate America?".
