Up until dumpy came around, crime was down. Except in the mind of the racists- as they *felt* it was worse- so it had to be. I remember challenging a gun loving co-worker who thought it was great that you could be armed in a National Park- I asked why- HIS reply was to protect himself from getting raped in his tent. I kid you not.

Talk about making up an imaginary problem.

Seriously? He couldn't just offer up the most logical explanation of bear/moose protection?

People like that guy are the people who definitely should not own guns.

The defendants preyed on homeless, drug-addicted, heterosexual males, who they believed were unlikely to report their attacks to law enforcement. After quickly befriending their victims on the roadside in Knoxville, they took the victims to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Each victim was tricked into hiking unfamiliar trails in pitch darkness, whereon they were raped by both defendants at once.

There's your answer. The perps thought they knew their type and they would've preyed on them outside of the park, too. In fact, they only took them into the park for cover.

Ah, didn't read the article, other than the opening lines. So being raped while camping in a NP is, well... not a very likely thing to happen.

I would think if you had a big stick, it might increase your chance of being raped.

Sidney Powell is now using the Faux News defense in the suit from Dominion. She is saying no reasonable person could have believed the BS she was saying on TV so she can't be held responsible.

And yet elsewhere in the brief, she claims that she couldn't have known what she claimed wasn't true, she believed it was true, and still does.

So, Sidney Powell by her own admission is not a reasonable person.

There must have been so many precedents to establish this as a fake defense. I don't understand how anyone gets away with it.

A network or a network personality like Alex Jones, maaaaaaaaaybe, because it treads into First Amendment, political speech, and satire. But a private citizen? Why don't I send a note to Verizon telling them I was kidding and no reasonable person could have expected me to pay for their services?
 
Well all she has is a first amendment defense. There is no way she can deny she said or acted the way they are saying because...well...this isnt 1920 everyone has the videos and other hard evidence.

The problem she is going to have is that plenty of people the Courts would deem reasonable including elected officials on the county, city, state and national level, the President, other lawyers, judges, business owners, writers...etc. parroted what she said and still do. And she didnt just do it on Cable News, she had press conferences and filed suits based on it. (THE KRAKEN!!1!) Her attacks against Dominion were one of the justifications for a friggin Insurrection!

It is one thing to be Tucker Carlson/Alex Jones/Sean Hannity and say your show is entertainment not news. That is BS but at least it skirts the line of legitimacy. Sidney Powell wasn't acting as an entertainer she was acting as a lawyer, one representing the President and his interests. It doesnt pass the smell test.

But unofan would know way better than us :^)
