From everything I know about her (granted, second hand through the AZ Dems) there's nothing wrong with her. I have not heard her statements about this but I think it is possible the vultures may have gotten a hold of something and blown it out of proportion.

I expect both AZ Dems to be unremarkable backbenchers. Statewide Dems will not be liberal for another decade at least, but their core is urban so they won't be Knuckledragging Dems like Manchin or ol' Zell Miller from back in the day.

This is another post I agree with you on 100%. Ish. Anyways, I’m okay with Sinema being who she is right now in a state like that. Same with Kelly. Moderate/Conservative Democrats >>> “Moderate” Republican. Handy and others posted a while back they thought she’d move left as her electorate did so. Makes intuitive sense, and hopefully she’s safe by 2024, especially with what looks like the apparent self-destruction of the Arizona GOP.
Edit: Kelly’s already there.

Let Me Help You Out

Most Democrats in the Senate are in favor of abolishing the filibuster.

But not, apparently, Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.

The money quote:

A spokesperson for Sinema told The Washington Post that Sinema is “against eliminating the filibuster, and she is not open to changing her mind about eliminating the filibuster.”

So there ya go. We will probably get COVID relief and MAYBE a watered down climate bill if they can find a way to make it budget neutral but say goodbye to the VRA and anything else besides some judges for at least 2 years.

dx,

For now it appears Manchin is going to run again. He had a chance to leave the Senate and run for Governor but declined. (probably because he would have lost) If he doesn't run again then he literally has no excuse for being this big of a wussy. You are untouchable why the hell would you even say anything? You just gave away all your power. If you stay silent you can literally hold the entire Senate hostage. He could be John McCain having all eyes on him...

Kelly is safe. I dont mind if Sinema stays moderate I have a problem with her blocking the agenda. Now is not a time for gridlock. In a normal year I would have no quarrels with her or Manchin to be honest. We are not living in normal times and there is a lot at stake.

We were 35 and 37 when we had our kids. While they are now 18 and going on 17 I don't feel old, unrelatable or that in any way, shape or form we've given them less than a proper and enjoyable upbringing. Although my parents were 24 when they had my brother they were 32 when they had my sister and both are still kicking actively at 83.

Of my 8 grandparents only 1 didn't see 90, 4 made it to 95 and 2 reached 100.

Strangely enough the only divorce for immediate family members (grandparents, parents, their brothers and sisters, their kids and my siblings) was my brother's wife had 1 previous marriage. My dad's parents were married 55 years until a death (the only grandparent that didn't reach 90), my mother's parents were married for 70 years until a death, my parents have been married since 1962, my mother's sister was married 56 years until her husband passed, my dad's sister for 50+ until her husband died relatively younger, my dad's brother for 60+ until his death, my brother has now been married for 27 years and I'll be 24 in August. My sister is the baby and has been married 10 years.

Wish your GOP friends condolences today. It's the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Maybe next time, Nazis.

WE aren't getting paid.

Putie's useful idiots in the Nazi Party are getting paid. And that makes them traitors to America.

Um.

Anderson Cooper said someone was arrested near the Capitol with a gun (with lots of rounds) and stop the steal literature. Obviously ANTIFA...

But we should unify because they want peace. The GOP took even less time than I thought to try and pretend nothing happened. What a pathetic bunch of losers and so are their voters.

Someone needs to look into the history of the cold war. And that's my source of questioning why the racist party is so willing to bend over for that prostrate exam given by vladdy. Yea, that's not his finger.

Maybe they just like the anthem. To be fair, it's a much better tune than the SSB could ever hope to be.
