HAHA! Shots were 30-29, and we let in 10 goals! That's solid gold
Well it feels pretty good to absolutely mutilate a team but i started to feel bad for tech after a while. Not that long ago i remember wisky going up 5-1 and later 7-3 and it was a helpless feeling. I can't imagine how the tech fans felt today. yeesh.
I'll stand corrected, but IIRC the last time he was listed first, he started.

yeah, congrats, RPI. Nothing like having your goaltender completely melt down, as well as your #2 ranked PK, come back from two goals down only to lose, having outshot your opponent 46-13. (In all fairness, the GWG was a terrific shot over our diminutive back-up who hasn't played a second all season.)
Give the Spartans all you have, but don't expect any cheap ones tomorrow.
If you have no goaltending you have nothing. Michigan had no goaltending tonight. You failed to mention the refs trying to give the home team the game in the third. Also failed to mention one heck of a goaltending job done by the RPI tender.Go have a beer and cry yourself to sleep.
then score the game-winner on a cold, inexperienced backup to earn a date with the Spartans tomorrow.
RPI-Mich: You have to give all credit to York here. In spite of his Engineers being badly outshot, barely able to clear the puck, and hardly able to put an offensive rush together, York made some big saves to keep his Engineers in the game long enough to pick up the W. On the chances they did get, they were able to take advantage of Hogan's pathetic effort, then score the game-winner on a cold, inexperienced backup to earn a date with the Spartans tomorrow.
Well, Day 1 was awesome. And, for those who are supposedly lacking social skills, the two engineering schools present were awesome to hang out and cheer with. Congrats RPI on taking out the evil empire tonight, and good luck tomorrow against Sparty.
Having an experienced backup is the coach's fault. Why didn't he get any playing time early in the season?
It has nothing to do with him being cold, inexperienced, or a backup. It has to do with the fact that he's so freaking short. If Baby Hunwick were more than 5 feet tall, that shot hits his shoulder and doesn't go in.
He's honestly not a Division 1 level goalie. He was going to play for Adrian, but we offered him a spot as a third-string walk-on because his brother used to play on the team.
Hey now, I think he's 5'5" (listed at 5'7"). Go mini-Hunwick go!It has nothing to do with him being cold, inexperienced, or a backup. It has to do with the fact that he's so freaking short. If Baby Hunwick were more than 5 feet tall, that shot hits his shoulder and doesn't go in.
Mini-Hunwick is the second-string goalie this year. Michigan was supposed to have some hot shot goalie recruit Jack Campbell for next year. Difficult to recruit someone to be a 2nd stringer for this year and then 3rd string after that. So this year we're left with Hogan and were all hoping he'd be decent and not get injured.I didn't realize that he is actually the third-string goalie. Then why wasn't the second-string goalie put in? Is he injured?
