Re: GLI - Watt's the forecast - Troppical Summers or McCleod on the horizon?
Just saying: Before the game, you seemingly weren't one of these clowns proclaiming that RPI is the "worst GLI opponent ever" or whatever nonsense. But after the game, you have proved yourself to be a clown, regardless.
And, I didn't leave anything for your "rep." That's passive-aggressive BS, and I don't bother with it.
Fair enough. I saw the game differently in person... York played phenomenal, as did Polacek and Pirri. BUT, I thought that Michigan lost the game due to their goaltending more than RPI won it with their overall play... when you dominate a team statistically and tactically on the ice, score three goals even with the unconscious effort by York, I guess that is a pretty even minded assumption. I don't know a non biased observer that would disagree. I don't know what you were looking for.. other than congrats, you won. If that warrants being told to go cry myself to sleep with a beer or for being a clown... than so be it. It wasn't intended to disrespect RPI as much as to release frustration about my team's breakdowns. They played well enough to win, outside of the obvious, and didn't. Surely my comments didn't warrant rep remarks from your fanbase like "F you, I hope you die in an effin fire." I mean, really... and you think I'm a clown?
As for your other remarks, it appears that you are confusing my statements with blog reports about RPI being a weak 4th team in this tourney. I never stated that, and thought it to be refreshing to see a different team in this tourney. I even added comments suggesting that RPI could compete with Michigan, considering it has had its worse season in twenty years, even with seemingly good talent. Afterall, both teams are basically .500 teams, but have the capability of being better if they weren't so inconsistent. I mean, they have 11 NHL draft choices on their rosters, so they aren't terrible, but they both proved they are not in the same caliber as MSU, either, and would have to play perfect hockey to beat teams like that.
But, if you want to compare RPI to "4th" teams that have recently been in this tourney... then some people may have a point.. considering North Dakota, CC, BU and BC have all been in this tourney in the last decade and have won it against good MSU and Michigan teams. You may also want to consider RPI's last 25 years of inconspicuous play, lack of NCAA tourney appearances, conference championships, etc. so it could be a fair assessment. The only other "4th" teams I can recall recently that was not heralded in this tourney was Providence in 2007 and Harvard in 2006. UNH came in for the '04 tourney, and a good UND team fell on their face last season. So, I think RPI was a respectable team that got enough breaks to beat another average team with a bigger reputation than their record this season, then got trucked by the favorite. No disrespect intended, of course. Unless, you people can't handle the truth.
