And I'm not really surprised the sources of complaints come from FOX news, Daily Fail, NY Post, and other right wing sources.
 
USA Swimming announces stricter standards for trans athletes because Lia Thomas hurt cis people's feelings. The prior standards were in place for 17 years.

It's always about cis people's feelings, isn't it?

And this whole "you can exist, but you can't fully participate in society because I have concerns you might be too good or take a spot from a cis person" isn't the flex you think it is.

Just report him and kick him off again. Best thing I ever did the first time. He deserves zero second chances, he's a serial POS and a bigot and he does not belong here or with any civil human beings. Kill him with fire, he's earned it.
 
We've heard the argument about trans women competing, that argument holds even less water to keep trans men from competing. So, why can't my nephew play on his school's soccer team? Afraid he'll take a boy's spot?

Trans Men should absolutely be able to compete no questions asked. That's what gets lost in this whole discussion.

You're correct, it doesn't hold water and there's no reason to withhold anyone from playing in a boy's or men's league based purely on sex or gender.
 
I don't know for a fact but I would bet money when black immigrants started coming to European countries there were movements to keep them from competing with native-born kids in school athletics because it was "unfair."

This is about a bunch of small-dicked, small-minded, small-hearted bigots who feel that trans women are freaks and it would be unfair for them to compete with the gentle flower of our own "normal" youth. I'll bet it's exactly how black children were perceived. It tracks. It's the same mindset; the same moral panic.

Now I see that 16 team members of Thomas have written a letter asking that the school not challenge those stricter standards because of her "unfair advantage."

Methinks the UPenn swimming team may be headed for some team unity issues.

What’s the over-under on how many of the 16 were white males? I’ll go with 11.
 
Castor Semenya comes to mind. Cis woman who has a naturally higher occurring amount of T in her blood and was told to suppress T or stop competing because "it's not fair to the other girls."

You want to hold the monkey's paw and make a wish, go right ahead. But don't be surprised when cis women who don't present feminine or might be a little too good get caught up in the mess.
