My understanding was that they flew to New York (probably New Jersey) and bussed from there.

ne7minder wins the trophy; everyone else who said plane or bus gets a participation ribbon.

I'm sure they had to go through passport control and customs, right? Cause all those places west of Philly are foreign to us northeasterners. Japan, Czech Republic, Minnesota...

Back to hockey....

I had the chance to watch BSU vs UMD Saturday. They say the best offense is a good defense and that's exactly what Bemidji does. I wouldn't say they're the most technically sound or physical or even most conditioned team BUT they are SO good at being annoying. And I mean that in the best possible way. They do all the things that drive the opponent crazy. They block shots, they pick up sticks, they get in the way of every pass, and if that all fails, Brittni Mowat is incredible in goal. Their biggest strength is that they play a very mental game with the opponent. It's really all about keeping your composure against them. For a team that only averages 25 shots a game, they really know how to take advantage of whatever chances they're given

1. Harvard - I mean BC.
2. Minnesota - Arms hurt from shooting so much at Princeton. Tough back to back weekends to start 2015.
3. Wisconsin - Yawning and awaiting January 10th at Ridder... circle it
4. Quinnipiac - Another opportunity to justify their ranking with Dartmouth/Harvard on tap
5. MD - Move up on heels of Clarkson's unimpressive weekend <--- specifically, Clarkson just didn't impress vs UConn
6. BSU - Ditto, but not sure if MD should be 6 and BSU should be 5... but had to pick an order
7. Clarkson - You now know why
8. Mercyhurst - Train keeps a rollin'
9. St Lawrence - They're good you know
10. Boston University - By a hair over their cross-river rivals (I love that dirty water)

I will only need to edit this if the Mercy stumbles at Cornell (or if I see someone else's rankings that I like better :) ).

I'm going to hold off until that Cornell/Mercyhurst game. Cornell isn't jumping back in anytime soon (yet) but the bottom half of the top ten is such a mess that Mercyhurst could end up anywhere.

You're right. And I'm already editing mine... not the rank, but a comment about Clarkson. They are actually a very good, sound team. Just need some depth. A struggle to beat UConn was not what I expected, but it was UConn's home turf, and the Huskies are starting to play well.

I think it's the other way around.

Regardless, I wanted to watch the games but nixed it when I saw that BSU wanted $30/mo for video access which for my purposes meant for two games. Pretty stiff, I thought, when others are charging $15-20. So, I passed...no pun intended.

Listened to some of the audio though and the games sounded quite competitive. Nice to see BSU ranked and adding a different flavour to the top ten.

You can pay for just a one day pass for $8... I did that for Friday's game. It's a few more clicks to get to that part of their video site which is probably so they just sucker people out of money who can't find the separate one day pass link. Good on you for not giving in

Their coach has done a fabulous job of getting women who are willing to get beaten up for the team and drilling them on blocking shots. Noticed this particularly last year when the team was not as good as this year but they gave everyone they played fits. They deserve a heck of a lot of credit for the way they play even if it is not fun to see being done to your favorite team.

The important question is, has the Gophers' bus got back to Minneapolis yet?

Thanks for the info. I forgot about that quirk on America One's site since I hadn't used it since last season. Logic would dictate that all the options available to a potential customer would/should be available/visible on the same page, so maybe you're right about the motive.

Too bad, since I was looking forward to watching those games. Hopefully, I'll remember next time.

Star Wars quote theme.

1. BC - “Now, witness the power of this fully operational battle station.”
2. Minnesota - “Strike me down, and I will become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.”
3. Wisconsin - “Only at the end do you realize the power of the Dark Side.”
4. Quinnipiac - “The Force is strong with this one.”
5. UMD - “Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try.”
6. Bemidji - “Judge me by my size, do you?”
7. BU - “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. …We must be cautious.”
8. Clarkson - “Never tell me the odds!”
9. Mercyhurst - “You’ll find I’m full of surprises!”
10. Harvard - “I have a bad feeling about this.”

Not sure how you give Hah-vad 10 after the pasting they took from BC but OK. I would also swap BSU & UMD & not just because I hate Shannon Miller with the heat of a thousand suns - I think if it was one game to play on BSU would shut UMD down. I also think the top 3 may be 'pick-em' MN handled WI twice but it is early yet & I still am skeptical about BC. I do wish we could find a way to have more inter divisional play
