Frozen Four ticket location

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Wol4ine, you'll want to call the Xcel Energy Center box office. They're the ones in charge of things.

It turns out that in my case, the change of address I submitted to Veritix in January did not get passed on. I don't know if it was too late or if there was a failure of communication (in the former case, it would have been appropriate for someone to inform me, as they should have known), but in any event, the folks at the Xcel took care of things for me.

I called the NCAA and they told me to call the Xcel. I called them and the guy told me they just went out and to look for them in the mail. It's St Pattys day and still nothing. Is anbody else in the lottery still waiting for their tickets??

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

I hadn't previoiusly thought of a "Minnesota-Specific" explanation, but I'll bet that is indeed part of the story. A high percentage of the 2002 lottery points were earned by Gopher fans. A noticeable number of the 2003 points probably went to Gopher fans as well. No doubt many of those fans were supporting only their team, rather than the event as a whole. To the extent that group has dropped out of the applicant pool, or has at least skipped several lotteries, it would certainly contribute to the observed gap.

Well, if you want a seller's market in St. Paul on April 7 & 9, root for UND. Yeah, I know. That may be too high a price for a Gopher fan to pay.:p;)

Given my seat location (am sitting with Bro Gin), we've talked about selling down and pocketing the money, so yes, financially I'm hoping UND is there. ;) That weekend is going to be expensive enough, as I'm staying in a hotel despite this being in my backyard (makes things so much easier as I live in the western suburbs of Mpls).

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Section 124 for both semi's and the Natl. Championship. Sconny isn't in it, but good hockey is good hockey. I've taken in many Wild games here, excited to see the Frozen Four at the Xcel.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Again, if everyone could post their priority number along with their seat location, that would be great. If you're not certain, your best guess will be fine. Thanks!

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Wol4ine,

Still Waiting here in PA. I moved but didn't get the address change in on time according to the X. They could, however, directly track what was happening to mine. They were being held by my last post office for 15 days before forwarding them on to my new address. This means that the tickets should leave my last post office today and hopefully arrive by monday the 21st. The person I talked to at the X was directly responsible for the returned NCAA tickets, her name is Judy. I would try calling again and leaving her a message to see if she can track your tickets to see if they are sitting somewhere close by. My former post office is 4 hours away so driving and missing a day of work was out of the question.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

After having the Xcel print new tickets for me, my old ones arrived today. Oops. :p

So assuming that the new ones arrive as well, I'll have a nice set of mint souvenir tickets as well as normal Ticketmonster-ish ones that I can use to actually go to the games. :-D

Incidentally, my priority is starting with Albany '01, minus the F^4, I was getting two tickets (singles seem to historically do better), and landed in section C02.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

After many phone calls and waiting for return calls I've figured the situation out. Bad news and good news.

The bad; it turns out they have no record of me ordering any tickets. I went back through my bank statements and sure enough, they never debited my account. I was sure I recieved a confirmation letter at the start of the season, but I can't find it. I must be mistaken. My dad reminded me that when the orders were due, we were flying back and forth to Texas almost every other weekend to be with my brother who was fighting cancer. I had other things on my mind and never ordered them.

The good; I spoke with the lady (Judy probably, very kind and helpful) at the Xcel and ordered some over the phone. Club level in the end zone. Catastrophe averted.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Can anyone out here tell me if the Section C1 thru C40 are good seating...was never at the X Cel Ctr in 2002...trying to find out for friends who got tickets in Sec. C 24 & C 31. THANK's.

I love the Club Level at the X. It's a great overview of the action, but low enough so that there's no "nosebleed" feel to the seats. Also keep in mind that with the upper deck above you, you're in the middle of the crowd, not on an "outer edge."

C31 is in one of the corners. C24 is between an end line and a blue line. Granted, not the very best seats possible. But C24 should be very good and C31 quite satisfactory. I think your friends will be pleased.

Very glad it worked out; good for Customer Service.

I suppose this sequence of events cost you a priority point. But all things considered, you got a more than reasonable result.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Saw a commercial for frozen four tickets at the Final Five. Frozen four tickets are still available on ticketmaster.com.

Thanks for the "SCOUTING Report"

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Tickets went onsale today. Just for "fun" I checked to see what was available and was able to find 4 in the upper deck end, row 8. I also found 2 together but in row 4, also upper deck end.

Was there a screw up or did it not sell out? Anyone NOT get tickets who applied?

For the record, we're priority 8 (first time at the X in 2002, only miss since was Boston in 2004) and ended up in Sec 109, Row 18. First time we've made the lower level (Detroit doesn't count) so we figure a lot of locals didn't purchase given the Gophers recent fate.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

I never realized that the word of "not a bad seat at the X" didn't reach some of the fans out there (considered the 2nd best arena in the NHL behind Toronto's, at least when it opened).

I've sat everywhere. Bar-rail at the top, ends in the upper deck, 3-4 rows off the ice, club level, etc. I guess the nitpicking depends on what you like to see DURING the game. I like to see the plays develop. So I prefer just above the glass on one of the blue lines, or (to my surprise) highhhh up on the ends in the UD.

Trust me, there are no bad seats, period. Whether or not they are worth the cost? Depends on what you want out of the game, in terms of sightlines.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

So the Minnesota Wild charges exactly the same price for every seat in the house, and everyone is equally satisfied with their location, correct?:)

Of course not. In any building there are more desirable and less desirable locations. Variable pricing evens out those differences, although often not perfectly. But for an event like the Frozen Four, when tickets are usually sold at a single price, fans who come out ahead in the lottery receive more value for the money.

The X is a truly great hockey building, no doubt about it. For example, I'll buy into the idea that the nosebleeds at the X are better seats than their counterparts at most similarly sized buildings. But in the top few rows at any venue, you tend to feel more detached from the rest of the crowd, in comparison to lower bowl and club locations. It certainly can be argued that those very top rows have good sightlines and that the ticketholder got an acceptable deal. Nevertheless, he received less value than those seated down below.

There isn't all that much disagreement here. Still, ticketholders have every right to evaluate the desirability of their seats without being accused of nitpicking. There are real differences among the various locations.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

Anyone NOT get tickets who applied?
Great question. Anyone?

To the best of my knowledge, we haven't received a single report of a rejected lottery application for 2011. If anyone has knowledge of a such a rejection, please post.

Re: Frozen Four ticket location

still waiting on my personal set but I know a friend of mine was rejected. Four of us entered the lottery and three of us were accepted to purchase. We all requested four seats so that may play a part. I will post the seat locations when mine arrive.

Because pgb would ask anyway, what was the priority of the three that were accepted and the one that wasn't?

I was going to wait to post all at once, but since you asked: the one that did not receive was a 0. I am a 1 (DC) and the other two that did get tickets were 0's.

Update: 4 people requesting 4 tickets each

Priority 0's: C15 Row 7, 203 Row 8, No tickets

Priority 1: 201 Row 3
