PC is now 3-8-2 in the new year...sign me up for more losing Leaman
A loser like you should feel comfortable with a so-called losing coach.
PC is now 3-8-2 in the new year...sign me up for more losing Leaman
Friars win in OT 2-1 against UNH..next up the rubber match with Northeastern and their AA Goalie Levi on Saturday night at Matthews. Sevedback was back in goal last night. No Duran or Kelley. Would be nice to have those 2 back for Saturday.
This just illustrates the incredible dishonesty of Zlax. This post was from Thanksgiving weekend and posted after PC's first home loss of the year. Finally giving Zlax his opening to post more nonsense. PC's record prior to this Brown game was 9-2-3 with the only two losses away against Denver. Additional missing context was that Svedeback was sick the prior weekend and Roden played his 1st two games as his replacement, he won both games and had a shutout in one. Giving Roden another start the next weekend against a pretty weak opponent while giving his starting goalie more rest is something most smart coaches would do.
Zlax is in his glory now because of an out of the ordinary poor second half of the season for Providence. I am surprised by these recent results myself, but I am confident it is not a reflection of bad coaching. He cynically states "sign me up for more losing Leaman".
Here is a some context;
Nate Leaman's number of seasons coaching PC Hockey = 12. Seasons with a winning record 11. That is a stunning amount of non-losing, so yes sign me up too!
Outstanding coaching job by Nate Leaman. As a BU fan, I always respect a Leaman coached team. PC will be ultra tough for BU.That Losing Leaman strikes again!
Actually NF, as much as I hate to say it, PC's 2nd half record this season is not out of the ordinary when compared to the prior 3 seasons.
I was away from my computer yesterday when I first saw this post. I assume that it was intended to show that my comment about being disappointed with the end of the season results this year was odd because supposedly that was typical of PC’s record over the prior 3 years as well. Below are the actual results for the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half of the season for each of the past 3 years, the highlights are:
Luckily for the actual PC fans on this PC “Fan Forum” thread, the Friars have fought hard to keep the season going this year – big test coming up on Friday against BU. I am rooting for PC – (to win)!
- In 2 out of 3 of these years the win percent was higher in the second half of the season.
- There were no losing records in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half of the season in any of the past 3 years.

A PC hockey/basketball ML parlay for tomorrow pays almost 6-1
What a waste of money that would have been....an epic choke by the hockey team and the Basketball team loses by eight.
Four straight years not making (or being in position) to make the NCAA Tournament.
Time to start blaming one of the highest paid head coaches in the entire nation.
I don’t follow Providence but it’s pretty clear from catching the occasional game + reading your posts on this thread that you have no idea what you’re talking about. Sometimes you badly outshoot a team and lose anyway. Sometimes you outpossess a team and lose anyway. That’s how hockey goes. Providence frankly had an extremely unlucky season, given their possession metrics. Seems like you just hate the coach for some reason and it’s clouding your judgment. What a waste of money that would have been....an epic choke by the hockey team and the Basketball team loses by eight.

Not to defend Zlax but what you're describing is what PC hockey is under Leaman. I don't think it's being unlucky. They tend to play well possession wise but in the end lack some firepower upfront. Now, let me be clear. He has had ONE losing season in 12 years and that was his very first year where I believe they advanced to the Garden for the HE semis that year. Won the school's only national title and has multiple FFs. He has completely changed what PC hockey is. And he's been pretty loyal to the school. Has he come up short in the HE tournament? Sure but it's not easy to win. BC hasn't won one since 2012. They should build a statue of Leaman outside Schneider and it would be crazy to think you can do better.
It is boring hockey to watch...let's keep trying to grind out a win by one goal.
All those exciting losses under previous coaches!
