I'm surprised I have not seen BC fans whining about the USCHO front page. Yet another front page about BU. Well at least they didn't crop Gibbons out of the photo.

If I was a BC fan right now I would be pretty disappointed. BC smacked around their rival for one game. yeah, so? It wasn't even that big a smacking because they couldn't stay focused. Giving up five goals? If it was any other game would that be acceptable? As for BU, they'll come back tonight. It's a young team and their first rivalry game. They'll learn and it will be ok.

As much as I thought BC would only have 2-3 losses at this point, considering their 1st half schedule, I guess I'll be ok with them going into the break at 11-5 assuming they win tonight. Looking ahead, I could see a nice little winning streak on the horizon.

happens to the best of them;). i believe JP will have them ready tonight though, i expect a close game. should be fun and it's our last game until what ever the heck bank classic on 12/30. would be nice to go into the break with a W

I agree with JD on the strength of HE. I think the top 5 teams can compete with anyone. BU and Maine are struggling right now, but I think both will be fine come February and March. BC and UNH are 2 of the best teams in the country IMO and Merrimack is definitely the real deal. As for the rest of the conference, PC is mediocre at best and the bottom 4 are awful. Maybe they'll get better as the season goes on (UMass and NU have shown some good signs the last couple weekends), but it isn't pretty right now.

In Maine's defense, they are missing their top 2 D-men, and their play has definately suffered, especially their PP.

Maine and BU both are young inexperienced teams, Maine probably a bit more, but both have quite a bit of skill. Clearly BU's youth was out in full force last night, and the effort we've seen all year was nowhere to be found.

The only place Maine is young and inexperienced is in net. They have an abundance of experience everywhere else.

Parker say anything about who is going to be in net tonight? Both looked shaky obviously, esp. Milan -he was inches away from allowing 2-3 more goals in the first.

BU isn't that great but scoring 9 goals against anyone, even a borderline NCAA tournament team, is pretty good. No disappointment here.

I wonder when someone in the college hockey media is finally going to point out that BU has one win since Halloween.

With Minnesota-Duluth losing last night, maybe if BU gets a tie at Conte they'll pick up some more first place votes on Monday.

Not to toot my own horn, but I've already covered/said both of these. From my recap of last night's game- "Parker said Millan will get the start Saturday night..." And from my power rankings on Thursday- "Fact: The Terriers only had one win in November."

I really don't care if you don't see how anyone can say it wasn't a penalty. The fact of the matter is, a true neutral observer in Starman reviewed it and said bad call--and he's not alone. If you think it was a penalty, so be it. I personally don't want refs making a bogus call like that. If BU were to score a goal exactly like that, I'd be saying the same thing. I'm all for legislating hits like the one Gibbons put on Chiasson out of the game, but if we're gonna now call penalties for what Kreider "did"...than I have a problem. I absolutely love what Kreider did. Just a fantastic hockey play. The NHL would scoff at such a penalty call and rightfully so. Some of the ticky tack garbage these college refs call is embarrassing. The fact you said he steamrolled the goalie tells me all I need to know.

Well, that's what I thought, but was told that wasn't the case. Anyway, some more retarded officiating because they didn't even call that penalty right away and as someone else pointed out, apparently no whistle until after Atkinson scored. Just a debacle for those guys last night.
