Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010

Wow are you self important or what?? I have a right to voice an opinion, as you do. I don't pretend to begin censoring your comments so, if you don't like it, don't read it. I could not care less who or what you detest.

Look, the team just had a 12 game winning streak snapped, won the ECAC West title over a higher ranked team in the process and eventually lost out in a tight game in the National Semi. The first post you can come up with is:
"Again defensive zone mistakes cost them the game.... Will the coaches never learn that defense wins championships?????? "
Not very nice, throwing the coaching staff under bus after a great season.

You obviously have too much time on your hands if you can go back a year to research. I'm not knocking the team, they are a talented bunch of players. I am simply being realistic. I've watched the program struggle in their own end year after year. I saw it in the final last year and I saw it yesterday. Ask the team if they are happy with yesterday's outcome.

Off course they would be dissappointed. I would not expect anything less from them. The deeper you go, the harder it stings when you do bow out.

It's not the players. It's the system.
Hope that clarifies it for you.
Understand I am not knocking the team.

Yeah but you have no problem taking a direct shot at the coaches, and that is what I took issue with.

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010

I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of Elmira fans out in full force this past weekend. Although the outcome was not what we had wished for it is notable that entire families made the trip (even though you can't get there from here...) and by my quick scan may even have outnumbered the locals in the semifinal game. A true testament to the loyalty and genuine interest of the EC woman's hockey program.

To the GAC host committee, I'm sure I speak for all Elmira College supporters when I say "Job well Done". Very professional and well organized event. You should be proud of your accomplishments.

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010

I have now (along with a few buds) had the privilege of attending the last three DIII Women’s Final Four championships. Two years ago @ Plattsburgh, NY (Plattsburgh Campus), last year @ Middlebury and this year in Mankato/St. Peter, Minnesota (Gustavus Adolphus Campus). Going into the trip this year we were not sure what to expect, traveling out west to the un-known.

Being an EC fan we had a bonus two years ago with the women and men both in the final four within an hour’s drive of each other. Last year we were able to visit the very beautiful Chip Kenyon Arena and watch EC come oh so close to winning there 3rd championship. This year we decided to take advantage of the championships being out west and make the trip. Let me tell you all four of us that made the trip are extremely happy we did. Gustavus did a great job as the host and Don Roberts Ice Rink; although smaller than I thought it would be; was a very nice facility. It was nice to see a smaller facility packed with EC Fans as well as the other school's supporting fans.

Even though EC’s outcome wasn’t what we wanted, it was good to see this very talented senior class go out with a win. Best of luck to the eight seniors as you will all be greatly missed. It was fun to watch you grow over the last four years. We even got a bonus out of the trip and got to watch an epic DI women’s final between Cornell and Minnesota-Duluth go to 3 OT’s were the underdog Cornell Big Red came up just short.

Thanks EC for another great year of Hockey…Can’t wait for next season.

I think you might be mis-remembering the location of last year's FF.

And you say I'm the dumb one. Last year was Middlebury dude, at the Chip Kenyon Arena.

Fans like youze guyze are what makes the world go round. It was great meeting you all; check out the middle photo in the post by Dhmn from 03-22-2010 04:14 P.M. in the Bulldogs 09-10 Season thread.....4 guyze to the right of the white T-shirt/ballcap guy. It really was an epic Final at The Ridder. BTW, the return of the Jets, in some form or another, appears to be imminent. The rumours just won't go away. :D

Ha ha. Wow. We are immortalized blurs for eternity! Too bad they didn't pan up one more row ;). As I said after the 3rd place game, I usually lurk on the mens d3 boards, but hardly ever post. Your post count trumps mine :)

It was nice meeting you too, but what's with the "youze guyze"? We are not from the Bronx! he he.

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010

Didn't they win last night? Got tired of watching in the second. As long as they stay away from my Red Wings...I'll be happy.

I got tired of watching the shames when they traded for leaf nation...

Your Wings are fine, haven't missed the playoff's in how many years?

What about the kid from Syracuse between the pipes? Unbelievable!

Howard was scary at the beginning, but now has his feet under him. I dont think Chicago or San Jose are looking forward to a first round match up with the Wings...they shake the same way EC does when they face The Cardinals!!;)

Oh ya pal EC was shaking in their boots come tournament time.

Have the contractors been in to repair the Cardinal dressing room yet?:)

I don't know. I can take a camera in and maybe do an expose for the newspaper. In the meantime, have you contacted your lawyers to asses the damage you caused to Don Roberts?;)

My understanding is that those charges are to NCAA's account. ;)
