Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010/2011

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010/2011

Good luck to both teams this weekend. All of us in Rochester are hoping for each team to come out with a win when the weekend is over.
Personally I think Platty sweeps, 4-1 and 3-0. If someone else on EC can step up and score other than Charron, EC will be much better off heading into this stretch of games.[/QUOTE]

No arguments there RIT. 9 players with no college experience....it's going to take some time.

Maybe today is breakout day?

Hopefully they get rid of the bus legs quick. 7am departure time and 7 pm game that night after 6-7 hour bus ride could be interesting.

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010/2011

Heard that because you didn't make the flight this weekend, Ninety Nines had to layoff bar staff..!!
(FYI...watched your Flames get snuffed out twice here this past weekend. Yikes.)

FYI..They're not my Flames. Keeping a keen eye on my 18-7-5 Flyers though..

I gotta tell you that Randy Carlyle is a piece of work. Reminds me of a Junior coach I had one time..always jawin expecting the most out of his players and if he doesn`t get it, they hear about it. The guy is a throw back I tell ya. Beauty!

Right there with my 18-6-3 Red Wings! I watched Detroit dismantle Anaheim last weekend. Carlyle is great for sure. And speaking of a piece of work...Perry's one first rate whiner if I ever saw one...between every whistle...wah, wah, wah...he could be your brother...I'm surprised Getzlaf doesn't just drive him every now and again!!

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010/2011

Just found out through another thread from a Plattsburgh State insider that both Platty/Elmira games will be available at Fasthockey.com on the weekend.

Enjoy!

I can't find tonight's game on Fasthockey - any advice?

Ya I just looked and it says no games scheduled so...maybe check back a little later.

I see Charb's also inquired on the Platty thread and so far no update from their camp.

NYI19 is firmly embedded over there at PSU so I can't see him misinforming the masses.

If not,.... she's the Rob & Ducky show on WIRY.com I guess.

For whatever reason, it usually shows up in the games list around 10 minutes before puck drop. But let me know if it doesn't show up and we'll figure it out.

All ready to go on fasthockey.com. Enjoy the game, all!

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010/2011

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Turgeon and Kraemer families, our Soaring Eagle Colorado Select Alumni members and the entire Colorado Select community on the sad news of the critical injuries sustained by Brittany Kraemer and the untimely passing of Liz Turgeon.

Godspeed Brittany...

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010/2011

The Soaring Eagles vaulted up the poll's this week going from 9th to 6th after coming away with a 2nd place finish at the Cardinal/Panther Classic on the weekend beating previously undefeated Middlebury in the first game of the tourney and coming within a whisper of taking out the National Champs from Amherst in the final. This is the second time that ECWH has stopped an unbeaten streak of a Nationally ranked team as they halted Plattsburgh's 8 game win streak by a score of 3-2 on December 11th.

Next up is a non conference home game against Hamilton this Saturday, January 8th at the Domes with a scheduled puck drop at 7 PM EST.

Re: Elmira Soaring Eagles 2010/2011

Congrats out to Tanis Lamoureaux and Lauren Sullivan on their selections of ECAC West's Rookie of the Week and Goalie of the Week respectively. Madison Johnston is starting off 2011 as she left 2010 capturing her second straight Elmira College Athlete of the Week honors.

ECWH are at home this weekend as the Potsdam Bears roll into town for a 2 game set at the Domes. Both games are available on Fasthockey.com with Bob Micheals handling the play by play as well as pre game and intermission interviews with coaches and players.

Interestingly enough....although the Elmira College Alumni Weekend doesn't go till February 4th & 5th, a few familiar faces will be in town and on the opposing bench this weekend. Head Coach Jay Green 80', Assistant Coach Farren Hart 08' and Assistant Coach Lisa Rosengarten 10' are all Elmira College graduates.

It'll be like old home week!

Both teams continue to struggle on the Power Play as Potsdam are 12 of 71 and Elmira is 12 of 67.

Potsdam's Penalty Kill sits at 56 of 72 for a .778 kill % and Elmira's PK is 60 of 69 for a
.870 kill %. Somethings got to give...

Welcome back CM
