Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

Re: Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

Considering how much California pays in federal taxes that get shipped to certain other states, it's about time.

BTW, the new high speed train between Shanghai and Beijing is impressive. Top speed is 350 Km/h (220 mph) and the fastest trip over the 1318 km (820 mi) is just under 5 hours. Too bad we can't do that...

True that. According to taxfoundation.org, Cal gets 0.78 cents back on every federal dollar it pays in taxes. Good for the 8th worst payback. That seems like it could well be enough where if it got back what it paid in...it wouldn't have any fiscal problems. Minnesota 'donates' to other states at a rate that's the fifth most getting back only 72 cents on the dollar.

Re: Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

Romney may not have fired up his base, but Obama certainly has. ;)

Boehner: "The American people probably aren't going to fall in love with Mitt Romney."

He added that the presumptive Republican nominee had "some friends, relatives, and fellow Mormons... some people that are going to vote for him," but suggested that at the end of the day, Republicans would be voting against President Obama rather than for Romney.

"Some friends, relatives and fellow Mormons are going to vote for him?" That's some pretty faint praise.

The fact you Obama lovers are even talking about Mitt has me laughing. Mitts chances are so slim its pathetic. The economy absolutely sucks, polls show people dislike Obamas crowning achievement and Mitt still doesn't have a chance. The Repubs couldn't have picked a worst candidate. he excites no one.

And Lady Gaga excites millions. We need leadership, not excitement. Neither of these two may be leaders, but we've seen what happens when voters focus on the speaker and not the content.

If he was a leader he would excite folks.

We CAN do that, we just won't do it. Why? Two reasons: Developments in the way, and NIMBY.

Excite who? The people who make Jersey Shore a hit show? The people who couldn't talk intelligently about foreign policy for 15 seconds but could tell you who won DWTS last season? Leaders don't excite those people. They don't want leadership. Leadership would tell them they are part of the problem and stop blaming everybody else.

If JFK gave his "ask not" speech now there would be marches in the streets.

Leadership isn't sounding good on TV. True, many leaders have that ability but sounding good on TV, for the 15 seconds the average American would pay attention, doesn't mean you are a leader.

no outcry about the local slanty eyes getting uprooted to lay the tracks there? :p and what were they paid?

I honestly had to look up what DWTS meant.

How about just exciting his whole base. If the GOP are lukewarm to the candidate why would anyone else vote for him?

Reading a fb conservative blog the other day...one young woman who I believe would fit nicely in the Jersey Shore and DWTS fan category spoke enthusiastically of her "excitement" due to Mitt being "handsome and wealthy" and couldn't wait to cast her vote accordingly for those very reasons.

That doesn't surprise me... each side has their sheeple.

:p If anyone else finds this loose end as aggravating as I do, I already looked it up: It's "Dancing with the Stars". Which I know I've heard of before, but couldn't think of it.

Don't laugh, people voted for JFK for those reasons, and people voted for Reagan because they confused him with the roles he played in the movies. (He did, too.)

The first principle of advertising is that packaging sells more products than content.
