According to my TikTok FYP, the US State Department is already taking Americans ability to travel away.

Three separate posts have come up today with unconnected people saying they were stopped in European airports by Interpol, told their US Passports were flagged as lost/stolen, and for two of them, immediately deported back to the US on the next flight.

The third was able to talk to a US Embassy and get an emergency Passport for their vacation before returning.

All returned home to be told by US Customs that "there's nothing flagged on our end," and told to apply for a new passport (at their cost).


All of them said the process to report a passport lost requires a SSN and DOB. All information that DOGE suspiciously had access to. Also, there's no way to find out if your passport was reported lost / part of this potential identity theft until you are outside of the country.

I have done my best to not mention Trump on any of my SM accounts to hopefully avoid something like this. Probably silly to do so but for as often as I travel to and fro I'm not taking any chances.

It could actually be... healthy? I mean when was the last time normal Americans did shit for our rights? The answer is: never. The white middle class has never made any sacrifice for freedom and civil liberty because we never had to. We always had the vote. Take away the vote and we will get a very polite, Mystery Alaska like revolution that brings down the government, and a Second Republic.

I am still not sure we are there yet on travel...for no other reason than travel business is already down and that would kill it. We are the majority of commercial traffic.

I did encrypt my phone when I traveled though.

I dont think SM is the cause of those stories. (if true) If they were flagging Trump haters and pulling passports we woukd know about it long before some randos on Tik Tok post about it. Prominent Anti Trump influencers and celebrities would be caught up in it. It would spread like wildfire just like when they were go after media types and detaining them. My uneducated guess is we dont get there until we take the next step against Greenland or Mexico.

The passport issue likely is caused DOGE screwed up the system and security. It will be exploited though when they ramp up tbe attacks in us.

We need a Constitutional amendment mandating public financing of all elections and declaring private financing to be bribery which bars the candidate from that or any other office.

We need an amendment removing the Census and the drawing of districts from any party's or politician's control.

We also need a spate of amendments shrinking the powers of the Presidency and prohibiting pestilential nonsense like unitary executive theory.

We need the explicit inclusion of privacy as the fundamental right underpinning all others.

And then for legislation and budget... we need a Picketty tax and Draconian upper tax tiers to gut the billionaires as an existential threat to democracy. And we need to end the church tax dodge.

The list is endless. I just posted starters. We really need to start preventing losses from being socialized, and profits being privatized. It's old, tired, and sick.

Sadly yes...but that is also partly because a lot of those Democrats dont want to fix it and dont even hide it. I mean the Democrats are more unpopular with their base than the GOP are in general because the voters know they are not acting in our best interests. I mean Jesus the leadership is arguing over "procedure" when it comes to Venezuela not about us kidnapping the leader of a sovereign nation and its illegality. The argument that "what do you expect them to do they have no power" dies when they don't even put up a losing fight. Say what you will the GOP uses every trick in the book to try and get their way and to a lot of voters they would rather have that then the "well we are right and smart and we will fight only when we have to" method, especially when the world is going to crap.

I think even the lazy will give them grace if it looks like they are at least trying. Problem is they never do. I mean they shutdown the government in part over health care then ended the shutdown without any sort of deal on health care. If you were the average voter (i.e. not us) would you really trust either party to help with your ballooned costs? The GOP wants to go back to the old crappy system and the Dems want to put a band-aid on the current crappy (but somewhat better) system while Blue Cross is making billions either way and health care overall is pretty much trash. Do you think the average voter thinks the Dems will side with them over their billionaire donor class? Do the (National) Dems even pretend they will? They don't listen to voters, they listen to pollsters and pundits who have podcasts and bring in big money. They ignore that the most popular Dems out there are the ones that actually do stuff. Why do you think there are voters that voted for both Trump and AOC or Zohran...it aint the politics that is for damned sure.

The Dems could own national politics for the next decade plus if they just showed that they have the will to do what must be done. Scooby is right they need an FDR. Instead they have an empty suit and a guy who should be living in a nursing home.

If the Dems ran any candidate on this platform they would get more ECs than Obama. Hell even half of that would do it. They would lose big money donors but would likely end up with more money from small donations. (like Zohran)

They won't though because they would be afraid of the backlash and what their "friends on the other side of the aisle" will say.

This took place outside an elementary school, either on the way to or from childhood dropoff. Early report is the victim has died, but not entirely sure yet
