Can you imagine the reaction by half this country (and 90% of the media) if Denmark charged Trump with a crime and kidnapped him for trial...the very justification they use to defend the Maduro overthrow? Articles of War wouldnt even need to be written it would be 9/11 levels of jingoism.

Travel bans would sadly hurt them more than help. The people they want to keep out wouldn't go there anyways. The economic forces are the smart way...until Trump does something dumb. And he will because when he abandons Venezuela and Cuba gets him nowhere he will need something big. That will either be Greenland* or Mexico.

i disagree. there are still a lot of fairly comfortable americans who won't do or say shit because they still have their jobs, homes, and retirements. Take away their ability to travel to the most popular places in the world, and people will get pissed.

Honestly, if I were Denmark, I'd send all the US diplomats home, which would be hilarious for the amount of americans that are currently in denmark.

My intuition is 99% of the people who travel to places like Copenhagen already hated Dump and the MAGAts. The desire to travel tends to correlate with education. Real education, not technical training. Those are the same people who won't be going back to the Kennedy Center. It's the ones who are IQ north of 120. It's not like they started out as Republicans and hey brutal racism and Christian terror was okay but if I can't visit the Little Mermaid statue well that changes things!

My intuition is 99% of the people who travel to places like Copenhagen already hated Dump and the MAGAts. The desire to travel tends to correlate with education. Real education, not technical training. Those are the same people who won't be going back to the Kennedy Center. It's the ones who are IQ north of 120. My point was, a lot of people who hate maga still haven't had their lives disrupted much. they're not contacting their elected officials, or doing much besides maybe bitching on the internet. I don't see maga people suddenly waking up, but making some things painful for more people will drive some people to action. This board is a great example of how many people hate maga and dump, but other than cost increases, haven't been affected a ton (i.e."get a different job" bullshit).

If the exit polls shows us +10 and the official tallies show us at +3 then we'll get an Orange Revolution in this country. Peaceful occupation of city squares by white employed normies. General consumer strike. The army refusing to fire on us. That's the revolution we'll get here, with Dump and his ilk having to hightail it out to Moscow or Tel Aviv ahead of the new, real DOJ.

It could actually be... healthy? I mean when was the last time normal Americans did shit for our rights? The answer is: never. The white middle class has never made any sacrifice for freedom and civil liberty because we never had to. We always had the vote. Take away the vote and we will get a very polite, Mystery Alaska like revolution that brings down the government, and a Second Republic.

You may be right but I am not sure cutting off travel will change that much. And you risk an escalation that may not come. I don't know enough about Denmark to know whether they care though. If they are in any way cynical your way is the best way because they have to assume the worst.

An invasion of Mexico would be seen as a cakewalk as opposed to sending ships to Greenland. Only issue is Canada but I don't think they can do much...

To me all of this hinges on who is making decisions and how desperate they get. They have been actively planning for both.

I don't think he's blustering either. I was saying that way too many people still poo-poo the current Greenland stuff as hyperbole and distraction.

Three separate posts have come up today with unconnected people saying they were stopped in European airports by Interpol, told their US Passports were flagged as lost/stolen, and for two of them, immediately deported back to the US on the next flight.

The third was able to talk to a US Embassy and get an emergency Passport for their vacation before returning.

All returned home to be told by US Customs that "there's nothing flagged on our end," and told to apply for a new passport (at their cost).


All of them said the process to report a passport lost requires a SSN and DOB. All information that DOGE suspiciously had access to. Also, there's no way to find out if your passport was reported lost / part of this potential identity theft until you are outside of the country.
