It's interesting. The Right's apparent response to the left's "cancel culture" (which is something that Bill Maher got his undies all in a bunch about and is basically a grass roots social media construct) is to use the power of the Federal Government to cancel people. I guess that was the next logical step. I'm really curious to see what Mr. Maher has to say about it tonight. I'm sure it will not be as strong or with as much disdain as he's had for cancel culture in the past. After all, he doesn't want to get cancelled again.

At least Jon Stewart (whose contract is almost up) and the South Park guys still have some balls.
 
Hey, so which poster here was it that kept telling all of us to quit overreacting? Have they come out and admitted they were wrong yet?

Just wondering, because as a slight neuro-spicy person who has pattern recognition as their super power, the last ten years has been fucking miserable and I need to be reminded who needs to catch hands....

I think the biggest issue for the Dems are the people behind the scenes. The Republicans are so much more in touch with the country it’s frightening.
 
In touch with what? They're not fucking delivering anything they promised either.

They promised to deport the criminals.. They're not. They're deporting the people that pick our food. Killing the farmers.
They promised to fix the price of eggs. They're not. The price of eggs is going up.
They promised to end the wars. They're not. They're letting the genocide in Gaza continue.
They promised freedom of speech. Instead, they've just moved cancel culture from grassroots to the government.
They promised to fix the CDC and give it more transparency. Instead they've embarked on a campaign to kill as many Americans as possible.

So, I am super happy middle America is happy they got their "feelings" addressed by these morons but they're not getting anything they wanted. Except maybe "owning the libs". And if that's all the government is for, well, let the Civil War begin.
 
Also, I watched all of Stephen Colbert last night and he had David Remnick on who happened to live in Russia during Glasnost which was when the wall in Berlin came down and Russia tipped their toes in the free speech water. He called it the most amazing greatest thing ever. Of course Putin eliminated all that. In fact there was a comedy show that picked on Putin when he first took power. Putin shut it down.

Was it the same guy who suggested that people were dumb when they bailed on their support of (D) elected officials just because they didn’t pass a purity test on their positions? Or suggested that seek and destroy targeted at individuals is bad policy or trying to punish companies for political policy reasons is short sighted because it’s a two way street?

Hard to say.
