Dump Term 2, Part 2: "A third term would be a big shattering."

From Heather Cox Richardson
Last year, Congress passed a law banning TikTok in the U.S. unless its China-based parent company, ByteDance, sold its stake in the platform to a non-Chinese company within nine months, or twelve if a sale was in progress. The Supreme Court upheld the law unanimously and TikTok disappeared from U.S. app stores.
But when he took office, Trump told the Department of Justice not to enforce the law for 75 days while his administration reviewed it. He also told Bondi to tell companies they can continue to carry the TikTok app “without incurring any legal liability,” no matter what the law says.
The letters she wrote, newly available through Freedom of Information Act lawsuits, suggest Trump can ignore the law because of his “unique constitutional responsibility for the national security of the United States, the conduct of foreign policy, and other vital executive functions.” The law banning TikTok— that Congress passed, President Joe Biden signed, and the Supreme Court upheld 9–0— had to give way, she wrote, to Trump’s “core presidential national security and foreign affairs powers.”

Fuck the law

A doctor shortage, you say?

This might be the topic I actually agree with hovey on. There’s no reason we need to charge so fucking much for medical school (or any higher ed)
The admin goes after endowments, but the actual issue IS the crazy costs unis charge. These are non-profit schools after all. The guys who run these should stay in the private sector if they wanna become rich. And their budgets grow due to federal monies paying tuition.
Stop wasting m9ney on condos for dorms and physical education facilities.
Nutso that these were allowed to happen and drive up costs.

Also many jobs don’t require college degrees, but seem to just to grab an interview. High schools should be able to prepare one for a career in business.
Primary and secondary ed in the US is still using a model that prepared the work force for jobs in the 50s🙄
That ship has sailed…

I think Texas was busy eliminating rape?

We don't need no stinkin' sirens! Just pray on it.

I think Texas was busy eliminating rape?

Why would Joe Biden do that?

So with the story now being that the WH/DOJ doesn't have the Epstein List some of the Trumpers on reddit posted this:

It's fun watching Trump and Netanyahu plan the complete obliteration of Palestine. And then watching liberals on TV actually mention the two state thing again. Two things have happened to end that. Israel and the United States going full blown right wing, and Hamas being one of the stupidest organizations on the planet.

It's over.
