You can tell he has never been to NoLa (or if he has it was French Quarter at best) because there are neighborhoods in NoLa that will treat the Guard even worse than Chicago will. 20 years on and some still havent been fixed post Katrina.

But to be fair half the NG will be drunk on Bourbon by the second day.

I ate breakfast at a restaurant adjacent to the Lower 9th Ward. Believe me, I know.

Also, screw bourbon - Sazeracs are fucking lethal, even to alcoholics like me.
 
The only states I have completely cancelled are Texas and Florida. They are big, purple states who have maliciously gerrymandered their way into absurd Republican majorities.

I know I'm not changing any hearts or minds in Louisiana or Mississippi.

In 2001 I was in the Quarter with three buddies. I had the only cellphone. Two of the guys decided they had enough drinking and chose to get something to eat. The two of us remaining ended up in a bar called Razzoo's about 10 p.m.

When I returned from the restroom, my friend was nowhere to be found. The three of us finally located him at about 11:30 a.m., the next morning, in a cheap motel, in Alabama, and learned that he managed to get there by, in no particular order, an ambulance, a bus filled with hookers, a cop car, and the bed of a stranger's pick up truck. The stranger wouldn't let him ride in the cab, and instead brought his dog up from the back to ride in the cab. :ROFLMAO:

True story.

Dumb. There many reasons to criticize what is happening, but ffs the US is a huge country and even in the reddest of red there are reasons to visit and say hi. I've been to every continent but 1, been to over 40 countries. It's all the fucking same barring geography and religion, and even then?
 
Yeah, well, I am not known for my intelligence. I am however very tired. And my interests in this country and anything in it is at a lifetime low doubtful to come back.
