From what I read, most conversations about stuff like that are usually done in person in the situation room.

I envision them in a room at their computers with their gamer headset on Discord. In fact I can't, NOT see Hagseth at a desk with a beer and a plate of pizza rolls.

I imagine anyone from the middle to middle-right reading this and thinking, "You don't sound any different than a MAGA but with the names and roles reversed". Perhaps I'm missing some tongue-in-cheekiness.

Hey, Handy is being lenient. I didn't say anything about GITMO! I'm not paying to feed, clothe, and house Nazis for the rest of their miserable, pathetic lives. Fuck that.

At this time, I don't think we can afford to have a center. If you are a true believer in and supporter of our republican democracy, you will set aside your little pet issues and "Yeah buts" while we defeat the latest fascist threat.

For instance, I'll grant you that most of us here are probably in the minority on trans rights/acceptance, and that a majority of Americans likely struggle with the idea. However, if you believe in American values and keeping up America's role as a leader on the world stage, you have to decide - which issue is more important or concerning to you right now? Are you so worried about 0.6% of the population that you're willing to throw away America as we know it by putting this megalomaniac in charge again?

Some people apparently were. Those people are not the centrists they think they are.

No I mean every damned word of it. They get their day in court (or Congress) but anyone found to be in league with Nazis loses the right to freely be part of our society. Terrorists deserve no liberty.

The mistake after the Civil War was Johnson and a bunch of other Democrats never forced The South to truly reckon with the damage they did. In an effort to make peace and reunite they let criminals and traitors go and the country has limped along ever since. (You ever wonder why Grant is always talked about as a drunk but Lee was a hero and great General) We can't make that mistake again. The GOP had a chance to excise the cancer after January 6th but they doubled down and now are cheering as he openly destroys every aspect of the Constitution.

They will have their chance to defend themselves...but the guilty are done. No passing Go.

We can't afford to have a center? The center either exists or it doesn't and the fact is it does. And as I said the MAGA choads think you're the ones that are un-American so we're left with a bunch of Spider Men pointing fingers. Weeeeeee!!!

Don't get me wrong - I hate MAGA with every fiber of my being but we have not yet come close to justifying Nuremberg II. Good Lord you people are insane I'm sorry to say it.

The Democratic Party has been centrist since 1992.

And all that has done is it has moved the center far far far to the right.

I've had it with the centrists as well. Piss or get off the pot. Pick a side.
