Division 1 Commitments 2014-15

Re: Division 1 Commitments 2014-15

UW has had some less than stellar students admitted in the past. UW is harder than Northeastern to be admitted at?

She's an honor student at a college prep school. I doubt she's the problem here. Maybe the article was disparaging Wisconsin's academic reputation (way too subtle, so probably not :)).

I don't know the exact details but have it from a very reliable source that Cianfarano's not comining to Wisconsin it is most definately due to academics...

If it really is due to academics, I don't really see how Northeastern or Quinnipiac could still be options.

Re: Division 1 Commitments 2014-15

Couple of things:

- ANY admitted student (hockey NLI or not) that has serious drops in academic performance after admission can be rejected later as a result.]

I know someone who claims that he was the first kid in decades from a little mining town out west to be admitted to an Ivy League school and was so confident that the school officials (indeed, the whole town) were so proud of him that in February he moved away to be a ski bum, never took his final exams and yes (he claimed) he was right, the school administration covered up for him and reported a distinguished set of grades for his spring semester

Re: Division 1 Commitments 2014-15

I am not familiar with Northeatern's entrance standards, but QU is far easier for the non athlete to gain entrance as compared to UW.

Re: Division 1 Commitments 2014-15

MSU adds two more forwards:

Minnesota State
Kathleen Ash...............F...............(Colorado Select).................Lakewood, Colo.
Elin Johansson.............F...............(Sweden u18/Modo)..............Hudiksvall, Sweden
That makes 11 for next season?

Re: Division 1 Commitments 2014-15

No JV that I know of, but it should be a fun season to watch. I expect some healthy competition for playing time and positions. The team made good strides last year, playing very solid games against several tough WCHA teams. Hoping some of these new girls can put the puck in the net....
