Predictions anyone?
AQ's - St. Thomas, St. Norbert's, Platty, Norwich, Williams.
AL's - UW-RF, Elmira, UW-SP
Maybe one game will be enough to move Falls and/or Point ahead of MIddlebury...let might already be.
In the same breath, maybe one game will be enough to go below Middlebury.
Well Autobids are decided...
ECAC-E: Norwich
ECAC-W: Plattsburgh
MIAC: St Thomas
NCHA: Lake Forest
NESCAC: Williams
Pool C's
River Falls--definitely in.
Now it comes down to Stevens Point, Middlebury, Elmira
According to my calculations
Stevens Point wins the comparison against Elmira (Elmira wins win%, SP wins SOS, Results against Ranked, and they are tied in last 25%)
I'd assume that Middlebury will stay ahead of Elmira in the rankings as the categories Middlebury was beating Elmira in last week still favor Middlebury..so it wouldn't make sense for Elmira to move ahead of Middlebury.
The Middlebury/Stevens Point comparison is pretty close. 2-2 with Stevens Point winning results against ranked and last 25%. Middlebury wins SOS and win%, however those are close.
What its going to come down to is does the committee think a Middlebury team that lost in its quarterfinals deserve to be in over Elmira who made it to their conference championship game.
I'm going with the 4-4 split...1) the numbers favor Stevens Point, 2) it will be cheaper for the NCAA
Is the women's selection show on Monday?
Yes. 10am. But you might as well pencil in Williams heading to the stafford now IMHO.

To heck with what the calculations show. I'm going to go with RF, Middlebury, and Elmira. Elmira loses five games by a total of six goals, all to top ranked teams. Point plays 15 games against three teams, so how do you really know how good they are?

A couple things you can go off of... Stevens Point is 5-2-1 against other teams that will be in the NCAA tournament (St Thomas, River Falls, Lake Forest)
Elmira is 3-5 (Williams, Norwich, Middlebury, Elmira) It doesn't matter if they are 1 goal losses or 10 goal losses a loss is a loss. ( SP lost 5 games by 11 goals(4 EN))
Elmira is 3-5 against teams ranked in the east rankings...Stevens Point is 8-4-1 against teams ranked in the west rankings (11-5-3 if you include UWS--is it still once ranked, always ranked?)
Those 3 teams were also 42-5-6 against all of the other teams that they played
And you didn't even include that Elmira was 1-2 against Plattsburgh, who I believe is also in the tournament!
I meant Platty where I listed Elmira...clearly Elmira didn't win or lose games against Elmira

Is the final four at a predetermined site this year?
