Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Rod Beard pointed out that Sabathia will only pitch one game in the series following a postponement (assuming Fister and Nova go tomorrow). That's advantage: Detroit.

Why would Sabathia not go Sunday and then in a game 5?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Right now the series is scheduled to end Thursday. Unless CC comes back on short rest he and Verlander are one and done.

Well, the current story I'm hearing Verlander and CC both going Monday in Game 3.

Bad for Detroit: Scherzer pitching in Yankee Stadium in game 2
Bad for New York: Burnett pitching game 4 on Planet Earth.

Edit:

Game 1: Fister v. Nova
Game 2: Scherzer v. Garcia
Game 3: Verlander v. Sabathia
Game 4: Porcello v. Burnett
(Day off)
Game 5: Fister v. Nova

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Helluva job by Fister to pitch out of that jam.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

A baserunning ****-up might be to blame for that out at the plate. Dammit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Jeter making a play in the playoffs? Never seen that before #sarcasm

Hammer, Aviles never should've went. Stupid play.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

JFC, boys, are we showing the game live, or just showing **** in instant replay?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Okay. Now we gotta get the bats out. We're in some trouble here tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

And Fister is done. Not the best outing out of him. 90+ pitches in 4 2/3, and left a mess.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Jesus Horatio Titty****ing Christ driving a speedboat. That thing **** near landed in the Hudson River.

8-1. Say goodnight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Raburn channels his Inner Inge and goes down on a check swing. Fitting. *shrug*

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Hi, hon. You're not stealing it. I'm giving it to you. If we're going to continue to perform like this, I'll have more.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Uhhh, okay. I guess that's one way to get a hit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

It's 9-1. What on earth do they think they're going to do with Mariano Rivera throwing in the pen?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Once Windmill Willie Betemit stepped into the box against Mariano, we knew that K was coming.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Okay, let's hope the diarrhea is out of the system. They have been tight since the National Anthem last April.

Need to steal one today or this series is likely over. Mental mistakes and nerves are killing them, like the World Series in 2006.

The Yanks are all loose and having a good time. I don't think it's disrespect (like the Cano crowd salute), but they obviously didn't like the press love the Tigers got.
